USB Map Update

Just installed the update from MnSoft, the update took less than an hour. Followed the instructions to a tee. When it completed everythung seems OK, but the outside temperature no longer shows on the screen. The time is displayed but no outside temp?
Has anybody had this problem and what was the solution. Will try and call them later today and see what they have to say.

Try pressing the RESET button (upper left-hand corner) if you haven't already done so.

Thats the first thing i tried and all i got was the time but no temp. Called Mnsoft and they said that there update was for the map software only and they didn't know what happened! They said to call my Hyundai dealer and see what they say. So now i have to take it to my dealer to have it fixed!!

As a last resort, you can pull the Negative cable on the battery for a few minutes then try again.

I was just about to install it before I saw this. I think I will wait until they figure this one out. I do not want to lose outside temperature reading.

roncar - were you able to get the outside temperature problem fixed? Please let us know, no use buying the update if it has bugs. Thanks.

I sent an email to mnsoft about the "outside temperature" bug, and this was their answer:

"Thank you for contacting the MNSoft Map Center.
Unfortunately, the map center can only answer questions about the digital maps. Please contact Hyundai Consumer affairs for any questions regarding the functionality of the GPS unit."

Typical, they happily charge $100 for an update yet disavow any responsibility for problems it causes. I will avoid this outfit like the plague, my maps work good enough.

Map updates should not affect the temperature display unless it includes some type of firm-ware change. A picture of the missing temperature indication would be helpful. A map update is exactly what it states, it includes any changes to roads/highways/POIs/etc....

Like an ID 10 T I got excited to see map update for $99 and did it without checking here. First they sent me the wrong key but they corrected that by shipping new one overnight which was great. I just installed the update and noticed the same missing outside temp. But this is so much more than just a map update. Even the setup screen now has additional lines showing versions for various components, including FW. When the update ran there were several 'components' highlighted that it installed, including MICOM (which I thought was main FW). The upgrade absolutely changed the phone firmware. Remember the issues with iPhone where directory was backwards - by voice you had to say call name, then smith, john? Well, now that's changed, it now works as we expected. I found that out because I was so used to saying last, first and it didn't work. The map screens/interface is also different, so bottom line is this update is much more than just newer maps. Maybe MnSsoft did not create the updates to other components, but they absolutely distribute it in their update so you think they would at least take some responsibility or offer some help. Missing the outside temp is not gonna kill me but it would be nice to have back. And unfortunately if/when they figure it out it will be another hour upgrade

Although MnSoft America deals only with digital maps, there may be software updates in the map updates that are released each year.

I have a 2011 Limited with NAV. It has the original firmware/map software. I sometimes will lose my outside temp display, but it comes back in 15 minutes or so.
See if this happens by chance. Again, it happens to me from time to time. It will come back by itself, or sometimes it will come back quickly if I shut down and re-start the car.

Please report back your findings. I may pay for the update just to fix the backward dialing bug.
