Default "Wipe New" Plastic/Rubber Restorer

Has anyone used this product yet?

I see it's being aggressively promoted on tv..and it claims to restore and/or provide a year long shine to plastic/rubber/molding/dash/etc.....

seems megga expensive and shipping is an additional $8...but it has a 2 year money back guarantee.

I'm curious of anyone here can vouch for it. thanks.

If it's one of those as seen on tv items promoted on late night tv don't buy it, at least not off the TV. Wait a month or two and it will be in your local wal-mart or walgreens so you don't get raped on shipping

it comes with an odd warning. "don't get the car wet for 24 hours after applying"

That 'review' sounds like it was written by someone from the parent company. One video's been removed and the 2nd, like the review, sounds more like a sales pitch than a review.

Dont trust the stuff till you can read up about the facts about it first. If it is successful, in time it will make it to the store shelves, if it fails then you wont see it since they wont make enough from it to mass market it.

As far as dashes go, I have learned in the past twenty years plus that if all you do is wipe it down with a water damp cloth the dash will last longer than expected, if treatments like armor all is used it's a hit or miss thing as well as added reflection of sunlight that can be annoying.

If you take care of your car you shouldn't need that stuff anyway. But if you do need a product like that, my choice would be 303 Protectant.

Headlights, No restorer is worth it. The restore is temporary and light output is even more degraded. Once the polycarbonate degrades from heat, abrasion and elements its done. Before lamin-x I would buy new used ones from crashed cars or aftermarket ones and put those on right before selling my cars and trucks.

Hard and soft plastic trim, will last longer when regularly cared for. Waxing headlights and trim with synthetic or polymer waxes works. Turtle-wax has a good one that leaves no white residue. Waxing everything like rims, trim, head lights, tail lights, trim and windows works wonders. A good synthetic wax is better for the long haul, A carnuba wax is good to bring out the color and make it dazzle, But the down side to natural wax is that it has a low melting point and the beating of the sun and polluted rains washes the natural wax sooner than one thinks and needs to be applied monthly or even as much as bi weekly or weekly to really do what synthetic wax can do for 3-6 months.

Head lights take the most beating since they are at the front and are subjected to the airborne grit, grime and debris you cant see as well as the added heat from the headlamps weakens the resistance. If the car never goes over 30 mph the housings will last longer than the ones that spend a lot of time on the highway. Once they haze or yellow, anything that is done is a temporary fix that can cut light output as much as 20% by defusing the light. I work on big trucks and that's all we do now is laminate the head lights. Worst case scenario the laminate might need to be replaced once every 2-3 years but is still cheaper than replacing the lamp housings.

I get my car waterless washed with a wax based cleaner and waxed twice a year, My wipers are still the same original ones from the day I got the car and are almost 2 years old. They only streak for the first 1-2 wipes and then are wiping like new.
