OK...I'll do this...we kept our 03 Elantra as a scoot-around-town car. the paint is still flawless.......so I'll try it on her .....rather than the wifes' and my sonatas.......but try it I will.

I'm up in parkland...which isn't all that far...and heck yeah...I'd be down for a SoFlo G2G..there seems to be a lot of us here....

All I can say is try it just once and see how the car looks afterwards as well as a week after.

If you are in the dade or broward area. Pm me and we can meet on a weekend. Have a look and maybe lunch. One way to get a SoFlo meet and greet started.

I have no problem with a G2G. All we have to do is get some confirmations from others and find a central point to meet that minimizes one or more would have to make a long drive out of it.

I stumbled upon this thread and I second the rinse free wash. I use a product called Optimum with a 2 bucket system and micro fiber towels and sponges. One bucket has a few ounces of Optimum and about 2 gallons of water and the rinse bucket is just full of water. If the car is really dirty the rinse water gets changed once. I adopted this system living in TX last year with strict water restrictions. I thought it was total crap until I tried it. The key is clean towels and sponges and wash the car from the top down. No water spots and the Optimum solution just lifts off grime.

Thumbs down Wipe NEW-BAD NeWs

So , i saw a few posts regarding the product Wipe New. I purchased this product a month ago and heres just a few comments for potential buyers:

1. its advertised as 19.99 but its actually about 35 bucks, you must purchase the detail kit with it (3 little microfibers cloths and a spongey qtip). theres no away around ordering the without it.
2. the product itself is very 'fumey", its has a very strong chemical odor so definitely have good ventilation going.
3. it goes on easily, but some areas may require more than one coat.
with that, it works well with interior trim, but again , because of the fumes you really need to let the vehicle air out a while, obviously dont use it on leather. on exterior, you must allow it to dry a couple of hours. heres the problems i found- it does hold up through washes but if you have used it on black trim and go through a wash and wax the wax literally dries on top and leaves a very visible white chalky haze. blotches and drips in drying can happen as well on trim either by the product or by wash products. even days after applying wipe new, the product or excess can still be washed off and transfer to your glass or autobody when you are handwashing..i had to use alcohol to remove the wipenew haze from my windshield. All and all i give it a C for effort, it seems its just as much effort to care for trim with or without using wipe new.

Thank you. just my 2 cents, it took some work to remove the product from most surfaces. thank god i didnt have to pull out the fine grit sandpaper that the website recommends for removal.

I bought wipe new and it washed right off my car. I applied it in my garage and it was raining out. I left it for about 16 hours (until the next day) then I had to go to work. It was still raining so I drove to work in the rain. When I returned from the office my car looked horrible. I could see where the wipe new product had "ran" because of the rain. I was furious. I searched online, and found on the site I bought it from ( http://faqreviews.com ) that you actually need to wait for it to dry for 24 hours!!!! I think this is ridiculous. I've never heard of waiting for a product to dry for 24 hours! I've used all of it up in the first application and won't be trying it again.

Thumbs up Seems to work -- but there are better options

Howdy. I found this thread while Googling to see if "Wipe New" works.

I also found a review on DoesItReallyWork.org. The site seems legit (and helpful) and this was their take: it does work but the ordering is a pain. As one poster mentioned before, the real price is $36, not $20.

The review suggested trying ReNu instead. It pointed to an order site via Amazon. It's cheaper and there's no as-seen-on-TV type shipping scams.

I'm ordering ReNu. Good luck to everyone.

That review reads like the ad copy they threw away as being too cheesy when making the TV commercial.

Wipe New over at Amazon; 75 reviews 33(!) are 1-star.
