I'm looking to buy new speakers and an amp foe the speakers (possibly with a new head unit...though I haven't decided on that yet)
For those of you who have upgraded your speakers, what did you get? How much was it? And how does it sound? ![]() Sent from my Nexus S 4G |

We need to know what specific trim you have (Dimension setup or base stock). Still, I do not believe either of those head units has pre-amplifier outs, so you would need to get a line-level convertor if you wish to use an amplifier without purchasing an aftermarket head unit.
I have high-efficiency speakers in the front from Alpine and from Infinity in the rear so that I could avoid getting an amplifier in addition to a new head unit. |

I have Polk DB651 in the back, and JBL GTO 638 in the front. All is powered by my JBL GTO1004 AMP. Also see my sig for my HU info.

Pioneer TS-A1674R. Got them from Amazon 4 for $84 w free shipping. Nice upgrade over the stockers. No amp but I'm thinking I will add a self powered Bazooka in trunk.
I masacared the stock speakers and used their frames to mount the Pioneers in. Didn't want to drill any holes in the new car. |

Still, worth the upgrade! My head unit is a Z130BT, by the way, but I might prefer Alpine's flagship head unit since Pioneer support is pretty pitiful and their navigation software is laughable. They also cater to iSheeple too much. |

I've got a pair of Alpine speakers in both front and back running off a shitty power acoustik amp...the speakers are 110w RMS and $100 a pair on amazon. Beautiful sound quality and very clean and crisp car rattling bass. My 10 volume = stock 30 lol
I'm using the stock headunit as well because I'm trying to keep my car clean looking. If you want specifics on what I'm using I will post tomorrow when I'm awake... |
