2013 Sonata GLS

I bought a 2013 Sonata GLS about 6 weeks ago and it's been to service twice now. First time because the radio cut off followed by the car also stalling 2 seconds after I pulled out of the parking spot at work. Then when I started the car back, the preset stations had unset themselves and so had the steering wheel controls. The next time the radio just cut off and cut back on by itself. No one in service can tell me what the problem is. I got it back and the radio cut off again a few days later. Then the bluetooth wouldn't cut off after the phone call ended making me unable to use the radio. Cut the car off twice and back on and still it wouldn't disconnect. I had to let it sit overnight to see if it would fix itself. Back to service and still they say nothing is wrong...any ideas?

Sounds like there's a gremlin of some sort in there. I've had my radio cut off and then back on two or three times, but I've never lost my presets. I've also never had the car quit or had any Bluetooth issues. I've been told that the radio fuses can be at fault for the cutout and then on. But this shouldn't have any bearing on your other issues. Keep after them til they get it fixed to your satisfaction or try another dealership.
Best of luck getting it fixed! Sent from my Autoguide iPhone app

I've been on them - hopefully this service visit will get some answers. The District Hyundai Rep is due in there tomorrow so they are keeping my car until then to see if he can see something they don't...wish me luck!!

Same issue on my 2013 Sonata SE. Sometimes when I start the car the entire Audio systems will not come on. Pulled the Radio fuse and put it back (fuse was not blown) and radio came on. When it happened again I shut off the car and when I re-started the car the audio system would work. Is there any service notice on this?
Also, if I am making a call the audio system will not come on (no power to the screen) until I finish the call. very odd. |

just had it happen to me, first the radio volume was low, could not change station or do anything with it. Then I shut off and on the car and it COMPLETELY stopped working, no bluetooth nothing at all with the radio. I called after reading this above and they said a reset as well.
I work almost a 100 miles from my dealer so will have to try and get it done local to my work, just lose time out of work. Seems to me this has been ongoing for over 3 years in reading various boards. No reason this is still going on if it happens this often. I HOPE this does not turn into a car stall issue like some I read about to go away this weekend 3 hours away and will be stuck. Question, can it ONLY be a dealer to do a reset? |

You can try to disconnect the car battery for half an hour and see if that type of reset works. Otherwise, dealer will have to look at it.

In both cases though I hadn't turned off the radio when I shut off the ignition the previous day. So the first thing that happens is the radio comes on when you are trying to start the car and in my case that's when I (sometimes) have the problem.
