Unless there is heavy rain, snow, or fog, I don't run the fogs. And when I do, its definitely brighter than the DRL LEDs.

Yellow /amber bounces off of fog and rain less and therefore provides increased visibility in the adverse driving within night fogginess. But in our case, the "fogs" are actually driving lights, designed for more rirected output, NOT, for "as needed" / during fog use.
