[Group Buy] 2012 YF Sonata Power Folding Mirrors w/ Puddle Light and Turn Signals

I'm trying to get a group buy started for these so we can get a lower price, I will contact Shark Racing once we have enough people.

2012 YF Sonata OEM Mirrors w/ power folding, puddle light, turn signal
Shark Racing will include Korean wiring harness, power folding button, and driver side insert
Price: $450 (without group buy)

• The mirror has the newly redesigned turn signal repeaters that are sleeker than the 2011 models (the ones we're expecting to get in the 2013 US Sonata)
• The Harbor Gray (P3) color matches in Korea and US, I am not sure about the other colors you may need to have the mirrors painted yourself!
• The A pillar is matte black which matches US Sonatas (unlike the 2011 mirrors which are glossy black)
• The mirrors will have Korean connectors. I believe you can remove the wires from the Korean connectors and attach them up to the US connector to make a plug and play solution. If not, then splicing will be involved.
• GLS models and models with no stock turn signals *SHOULD* still be able to install this You will have to splice into the turn signal wiring harness. It will be quite a bit more work to wire up but it can be done. If you want to keep everything clean and reversible to stock, you can use a DRL Delete Harness to tap in to.
• I cannot guarantee a perfect install and 100% compatibility since I myself have not yet installed or seen the mirrors yet either. I am almost certain however that the hardest part of the install will be wire splicing.
  IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING, DON'T BLAME ME IF THE MIRROR TURNS OUT INCOMPATIBLE!

If you are interested state if you have turn signals repeaters on your mirror. This way if it turns out that non-turn signal models are incompatible, it will be easier to count who is still in.

So I contacted Shark Racing about the group buy and they said that with a group of 5 or more, they will knock off $50 to make it $400.

They seemed confident that I am right about being able to fit the mirror onto a US car, however they mentioned that their "parts dealer keeps saying it may not fit for some reason, although they don't know what may not fit".

So here is whats going to happen. Instead of having everyone take a blind gamble, SR is going to sell me one unit at the group buy price first and in return, after I install it I will report back to you guys on whether or not it will work. After all, if I show you guys a successful install, chances are even more people will have the confidence to do this mod and jump on!

I'll keep the group buy list maintained and update you guys when the mirrors come.

I tend to email them around 12:00AM EST which is around 1:00PM KST and they responded pretty quickly with a chain of back and forth convos between me and SR. The last email I sent at 4:00AM to ask for an invoice went unanswered, but that was around 5:00PM KST so I would imagine they were in the process of leaving the office.

yea i emailed that address too and around that time knowing they are in korea. Guess finding out if they have english instructions for the sunroof relay is unimportant to them.. sigh

I'm very interested to see how this install goes! I don't think I'd have an easy time justifying the $400 to my wife at the moment... but maybe eventually. But this is something I've thought about a few times!

I tried emailing them about instructions for the sunroof relay too. No reply to my email either :/ Let me know if you figure it out please! I just have the sunroof relay sitting in my room waiting lol.

Also, I'm really looking forward to your write up on this to see how easy it is. I'm in for the group buy if the price is right and it works well!

I know this is off subject, but I too tried contacting SR after buying a lot from them. Tried both their emails a couple of times, and they just straight up ignored me. One of the worse customer service I received in a long time.

I'm wondering if the group buy can also include the autofolding side mirror like our NA ones, because I still think that ours modified looking like this:


Might be better looking and more functional compared to the new 2012 KDM ones because the LEDs strips are bigger. And this one should be direct fit, and will have the puddle lights as well.

They're both currently sold in Korea as well: 2010-2011, 2012
