Default Roof Leak?

So I noticed the stain in my back seat last week. I found it really odd because no one ever sits there - for the last while, I've been the only one in my car. In any case, I figured I must have somehow done something to cause it. As I was getting ready to shampoo it, I looked up at the roof and saw a stain, which led to me think maybe I have a roof leak.

I have an appointment at the dealer next week to look at this. I've attached some pictures. Looking at the roof stain, it's not THAT close to the sunroof. What do you think? Possibly a roof leak?

Thanks!

When I had my SE with the sunroof, I found I had a pretty major leak along the backside of the sunroof. I'd be willing to bet that's part of your problem and the other part is either a clogged drain or a drain tube that came disconnected. Regardless of what the problem is, the dealer and Hyundai are responsible for replacing ALL affected items. Don't let them skip out on replacing something, because you really don't want mold to form in your roof, headliner or seat. Make sure they do the job right. Good luck.

So I took my car to dealer last week. I was told they couldn't locate the leak and all the drainage was working properly. They cleaned up the stains and told me if I notice it reappearing, to bring the car back in.

It was raining a couple days ago and I noticed a couple water droplets seeping through the lining around the sunroof glass. Today I took a garden hose (very very low pressure) and ran water on top the sunroof. Attached are a couple pictures.

I've read a couple threads and there doesn't seem to be a conclusion on if water should be seeping through at all (if there is drainage, my guess is a little amount is to expected)

What's your opinion from the pictures? Does it look normal?

Thanks guys!

^^^ IMO, that's too much for a low pressure. Expect a drip or two under low pressure.

That said, if the drains are working you still shouldn't see any water on the seats or headliner even with that leaking as you show. What you show in the first pics looks like a lot of water.

No way any leak is expected. Take it back to the dealer. If they can't fix it go elsewhere and call Hyundai zone office. My GF's Camry is 11 years Old and no leak ever from her sunroof. Get it fixed before it gets moldy. Good luck.

That's exactly what the leak in my SE looked like even at a light rain. The dealership (after the service writer told me that sunroofs are designed TO leak) replaced the whole glass panel/seal assembly. After that, I would get a drip or 2, but A LOT less water coming in than before.

Just wanted to give an update. So you guys were right! I took the car back to the dealer 3 days ago and they agreed too much water was getting through. Also, the stain on the headliner reappeared. They replaced the glass and seal assembly, HOWEVER, this DID NOT fix the problem! The leak is still occurring and they are lost for words too. I'm still without the car and they've opened a case with Hyundai Canada. I must say though, the dealer has been extremely nice and honest with the whole situation and have given me a rental since day 1 (which is also a 11 Sonata...which seems to be getting WAY better gas mileage though!)

Hopefully this will get resolved by next week! I'll let you know what happens.
