Below is a list of oil filter wrenches that will fit the 2011 Sonata GLS oil filter. I have the non-turbo model.

When I went to do my first oil and filter change, I could not get the filter off and had to remove all the plastic shrouds. I also had a hard time finding the right wrench. After searching, I finally found that you need a [b]80MM/15 flute wrench. Below are the names/part numbers and a few links. All are under $10.

Advance Auto parts and ToolTopia.com - Lisle LIS54720 - (all metal) - I use this one.

Advance Auto parts - Performance Tool - W54068 - (all metal)

NAPA - BK 7759012 - (plastic w metal drive plate)

Hope this helps. Have a great day.

P.S. - Also, to stop the oil filter oil from spewing on the shroud, I use an awl and punch a few holes in the filter bottom before removing...it helps.

The 4 piece set from Harbor Freight has the right size in it also. (80MM/15FL) $6.00 Online or in stores. Cast aluminum constriction, 3/8" drive, and 3/4" external hex too. ITEM #94096

Tried to do my first oil change today myself... couldn't do it. I thought getting the dealer to do the first change would help - but they also put it on so tight I could not budge it even after removing all the plastic on the bottom.

Where can I buy a oil filter wrench in Canada? I know it should be 80mm/15 lute... but I looked high and low and cannot find anything even close at any local parts store. I found a few sites in USA but they don't ship up here.

I couldn't get my filter off the first time either, not without removing the shrouds.

I got the metal filter wrench from ToolTopia, it works great. I also got a Fumoto QuickValve and have never had such an easy time doing oil changes.

I think my dealer fired their gorilla and hired king kong or they never changed the factory filter. A generic wrap around tool just put lots of scratches on it.

Found maybe a match at NAPA, they couldn't find "BK 7759012" but they did find "BK 7769012".. I will find out soon when it gets in their system didn't have much detail other then it was 80mm.
