Modification Of The Hid Bulb Question

I don't have a drimmer to cut the tab. I try to use a file to file it but in vain. The plate is made by stainless steel, although is thin but is very hard. So, I use a plier to bend and fold it backward in order to make it fit into the housing base. It work too.. you can read my threat at page 166 to see the differences before and after results.

So can we get away with a clean cut across or do we have to make the notch as well? I didnt do that mod which explains why my light pattern sucks so bad

The notch on the bulb serves as a LOCK that keeps it in place in the headlight housing. If you just cut across, there's a tendency for the bulb to rotate and move (due to vibration) since it will only be held by a clip.
