Can anyone tell me if this is a decent deal on a used Hyundai.
2011 Hyundai GLS with 20000 miles Out the Door price of $19400? It seems a little high but over in Long Island car prices seem to be more expensive.

For that exact same used car you could get it for (after some haggling) $14,000 here in Milwaukee. Not sure why it's so high there.

Here I did a quick search on cars.com near long island:
Used 2011 Hyundai Sonata - in 11713 Area - on Cars.com

These cars all have more mileage but prices are significantly lower anyway.

I think because it is a Certified Pre Owned. 2011 Hyundai Sonata GLS, $16,898 - Cars.com

Is the car that I am looking at.

A second to TimmyB's recommendation of Hyundai of Lansing. I dealt with Mark Doherr there. He's actually interested and pretty knowledgeable about cars, not just Hyundai's.

I witnessed the service managers come in several times to talk to customers waiting for their cars for service...and there were several times that the service managers would tell customers that they *didn't* need a specific service right now. That typically doesn't happen at a car dealership!

Finance manager (whose name escapes me...) was fast, and didn't try to upsell me after I told him that I wasn't interested in extras (gap insurance, "wrap", wheel coverage, etc.)

My only gripe was that the car pulled left continuously, but I didn't notice during the test drive. Should have been fixed before the car was put up for sale, but Liberty Hyundai in New Hudson, MI fixed it for me on the second try.

Default angry customer

To whom it may Concern

This memo is in regards to a most unpleasant encounter I've had with a Hyundai dealership in Leduc, Alberta.

In may of 2011 I purchased a new 2011 Hyundai Sonata from Southtown Hyundai in Edmonton, AB. I took a big loss on my trade in and decided to give the product a chance.

During the second week of march 2013 I noticed the transmission in times acting kind of rough. Since i live in leduc, AB i decided to bring it to Leduc Hyundai on March 11 for the warranty work to be done. As of this email the car has 26600 km. Upon diagnosis which took nearly 3 days they said it needed a new transmission. It then took another two days they said to get permission to order a transmission and another week later they still had no transmission and said it was going to be another 4 days.

On march 22 i went to the Leduc dealership and spoke to a man who said he was the owner. I was angry at the fact that I been renting a car all this time that has cost me nearly $800.00. I'm paying $500 a month for 7 years on my car and do not believe that when it breaks down on warranty i should have to take money out of my pocket for rentals. If that was the case i would not of purchased a new car, only cheap throw away cars like so many others do. The owner said he would get some information and call me.

On march 23 the owner then called me while i was at work. His lack of customer care shocked me. He told me i didn't have any right to be angry and that " i didn't buy the car there, they didn't break it , and that I can come get the car and take it somewhere else". Exact words. I then had to leave work , take back the rental, and take my car. At the dealership i had to spend 30 mins digging it out of snow. After telling to come and get it they didn't even have the courtesy to dig it out and left it to me. Then they had the nerve to tell me the transmission was on back order, so they been lying in telling me it was on the way. So, after them having the car for nearly two weeks, with no repair date in sight, and me with a rental bill of almost 800 dollars, i had to drive away in a car with a bad transmission.

So has of now, I have to take my car to Southtown Hyundai in Edmonton on march 25 and have them start all over with the repair but at least there giving me a loner car while i wait. It's wasn the time for the repair that was so annoying, but the money it has cost me.

Has it stands right now in my mind i don't want to put down your product because it failed, things break and thats life. But when i pay over $40000 for a car and 26000 km later it fails I expect it fix in a reasonable amount of time with no cost to me. The problem I'm seeing in todays market of selling cars is they only care long enough to get the sale. Maybe the whole thing is my fault that i didn't bring it back the place i bought it, but i thought my warranty was good at any dealership. Leduc Hyundai made it perfectly clear that the fact i didn't buy my car there was a deciding factor in there lack of courtesy.

I will have this car for another five years and can honestly say that at this time the situation has probably turn me away from another purchased with hyundai. I can only hope in the years to come my experience gets better with your product. I know in the big picture, that probably doesn't mean much to hyundai because one guy is dissatisfied and i'm sure the story if looked into will be change to suit the accused, but at at the end of the day i'm just a customer who wanted his car fixed in a reasonable amount of time with a bit of courtesy. I'm not that old , but i remember a time when the customer was always right. I miss that time.

This is a terrible story. I don't think you should have a bad opinion about Hyundai because of a bad dealership. The dealership I go to now is great. I didn't buy my Hyundai from them but they've treated me very well every time I've taken my car there. They go out of their way to let you know they care. Hopefully you find a dealership that does the same.

I purchased a new 2013 Hyundai Sonata GLS (with PEP) from South Point Hyundai, Austin TX two weeks back. My experience was smooth and hassle-free. I cannot comment on the service department there yet.

I sent out an email to 13 dealers around my area (including those in Dallas and Austin) on Sunday evening about the vehicle I was looking for and the price I was willing to pay. By Monday afternoon, six of them contacted me with the vehicles and prices. South Point Hyundai (Austin) and Freeman Hyundai (Irving) were the ones that came closest to my price. I chose to go with South Point as they were the closest to my place. And they did not disappoint. The internet salesman that I interacted with throughout the deal was prompt and courteous. I went to the dealership only after finalizing everything on the phone and by email, including the finance. After I got to the dealership, he also offered me a test drive on the same car that I was about to buy. After that we finalized all documentation, expect the final contract. I took the contract home, made sure everything was in order and came back the next day to sign it and take the car. Overall I spent close to an hour at the dealership (not including the test drive). Probably the only thing I did not like was the pinstriping on the car. But, it was my mistake. I should have told them specifically not to put that on the car (it was not there on the first day).

Based on the reviews and ratings online about Freeman Hyundai, I felt they would have been a good choice too. I also liked the fact that they were prompt in their communication and had very good prices. If they were closer to my place, I would probably have purchased from them.

Was looking to get a new 13 Accent SE manual. Made a mistake and went to Downingtown PA Colonial Hyundai (they responded to my internet request and were one of the closest.) Through email they told me they have the car. When I got there turned out they have sold it. Really? Is this a way to get customers in??? Tried to sell me a different car, then promised to bring the car I was looking for....long story short, my shopping experience was terrible. I sat there for 4 hrs while the salesperson was running somewhere to consult.
And what worst, they don't know the cars they sell!!! I test drove an Elantra and when I asked about the engine they told me it was GDI, but it wasn't!!!! I opened the hood to check. After that they vanished. But for me it was the last drop.
Just read the reviews before you go there.
