My XS 6000k is up and working! Think I had the connector on the ballast flipped. They look sweet! I do want to get a set of 4300k to compare, there is a hint of blue that I'm not crazy about.

How many of you adjusted your lights higher? I'd like to have my lows go a little farther.

Default LOOKING FOR HELP- Xenon HID 2011 Sonata

LOOKING FOR HELP- Xenon HID 2011 Sonata
Hello new to the forums,

I have a 2011 Sonata GLS, I want to install HID's never done it before but think I can do it. I've been reading up on them and watching how to videos on YouTube. Seems not to difficult. My only problem is cant find them, or the right kit (don't know exactly what kit or what I need)

From my research I think I want the 8000k (it's like a light blue)
Looking on eBay I think I can get them for around 85$

Thank you MUCH!
Looking forward to the replies

Plasti dipped the factory wheels and I love it

I also used double sided heavy duty tape to secure the ballast even more whatever it was up against. It looks A LOT neater in person than it does in the pictures!! Came out nice and clean and professional!!! Its sunny and almost 90 degrees out here in NYC so all I have are daytime pics but will have some night shots tonight!! I ordered the 6000k Premium Philips H7 kit w/ CANBUS decoder from HID Kits Xenon Lights & LEDs | Xenon Supply. With all the videos they have on there website and watching them a bunch of times it totally trained me for the installation!! Great customer service as well and I am very happy with the quality of the product!!

Modification Of The Hid Bulb Question

Above Link references doc_aa's Picture in an older Apr '11 Thread about the Bulb's Ceramic "pole" being (usually) default-installed in the 12 o'clock position (because of the Bulb's Tab location) and the NEED for the "pole" to Insert at the 6 o'clock position via Cutting a New tab / Shadow disappears.

XenonSupply is supposed to (NOW) be Modifying Bulb's FOR YOU, so I'm confused about your Shadows.

Read the above Thread some and post back if more requ'd.

Default Ground shadow removed

BEFORE TURN.jpg
Original Philips H7 6000K HID in original position. Black shadow could be seen obviously.

AFTER TURN.jpg

After turn thr return rod face down, no more shadow ans look brighter.

6000K HID VS LED.jpg
My genuine Philips H7 6000K bulb (Made in Germany) look a bit yellowish compare to the 7.5W super bright LED.

Thanks for those who share the valuable experience here how to remore the shadow in H7 bulb. Really help a lot. Happy retrofit..

Does the H7 6000k bulb do anything at night when using your brights? Or is it useless?

Had my first oil change today at the dealer since installing my HIDs. They checked the all of the lights when I pulled her in, didn't say anything about the HIDs that were looking mighty fine.

Got bent over on an air and cabin filter, which I approved thinking it was only going to be $50. $10 each to install. With tire rotation ($18), I was out the door for $100. Robbery! At least I took advantage of their coffee and cinnamon rolls! lol

Installed the 4300k bulbs from XS. Don't like them. Went back to 6000k.

I think the 6000k bulbs produce better light and look much better. The 4300k looked almost stock, maybe a bit whiter.

Anyone else see some slight shadows? I see them with both bulbs. Not the telephone pole shadows, just the light is a little different a few feet in front of the car.

The New XS.com Install video talks of the (driver-side) H7 Connector Wiring being BOTH YELLOW (my '11 Ltd's are, of course, Green) with NO POLARITY indicated. The HID driver-side bulb Spaded Wires are, therefore, inserted into the Connector on a Try & Test later basis.

Is it that simple? No light, so you remove Dust cap and Reverse the Spades in the Connector? Nobody's mentioned any problem and I know everybody's not guessing Pos/Neg correctly every time.

Any additional experiences to suggest what other key error(s) might Net No Lights other than good Power/Ground connections? Looking forward to this! Many Thanks!
