Default Engine Management Light Problems

Has anyone had any problems with the Engine Management Light illuminating persistently? My wife bought a 2009 i10 a month ago and we've had this issue from the start. Sometimes it flashes and then goes out. At other times the light has stayed on. The engine is also occasionally misfiring. The car is under Hyundai warranty and we've had it checked by Hyundai dealerships 3 times, but it appears that they don't know what the problem is or how to fix it. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem?

At this point, we're not sure what our next move should be. If it appears that Hyundai can neither diagnose nor fix the problem, maybe we should reject the car and try to get our money back. Or perhaps the i10 ECU is just over-sensitive and the problem is unlikely to be anything serious. I'd be really interested to hear any views.

Thanks.

Had something about similar, but the light never stayed on.

Got engine light sometime flashing for 10 - 30 sec at start, and some misfire. Dealer just changed spark plugs, and problem disapeared.

I wish our experience was as simple as yours fc59. Our spark plugs and leads have been replaced several times now, but we're still occasionally getting the flashing light. Such an annoying niggle!
