First, let me say that I am loving the remote start feature via iPhone. Next comes the question. Is there a setting that I can change so that the four way flashers do not flash when I remote start my vehicle. I love being able to get into a toasty warm vehicle but I'm not sure that my neighbors appreciate the blinking lights in their windows for ten minutes while the car defrosts the windows.

Also is there a setting that I can use to turn on those butt warmers in the front seat?

Remote start was on my list of goodies my wife wanted along with electrically heated seats, did want a manual transmission, but if we got that, forget about everything else. But is starting to like that AT in manual mode, and with an MT remote starters are out. Wanted a spare tire instead of a spray can. Infinity sound system is nice, one of the few vehicles where I don't have the urge to do something with. Guys that did ended up breaking plastic snap together parts.

Cruise control is a must, some people are paying as much as 725 bucks to have an aftermarket unit installed. Another guy spent 800 bucks just to add a spare tire to his MT base model and for parts only. Some are buying power lumbar add ons, that switch looks terrible, 300 bucks plus labor, already got this and I love it. Really didn't want a power sunroof or factory GPS, but got it for practically for free, with others, this can be a $4,500.00 addition. But have more toys to play with. And all covered by factory warranty.

Just sat down an calculated these goodies to add them as opposed to already get them with the vehicle.

Not me! Modded to rear LED reflectors, removed bumper, reinstalled. Not a broken clip anywhere.

The Secret? Take your time, don't rush the job, and a little bit of luck. :)

Personally I don't see where I would ever use remote start. So it's interesting that some people think it's useful. To me the only useful part of BlueLink are the automatic contact in case of an accident and maybe the unlock thing. But $200 a year (for the two different packages, which is also stupid) is beyond exorbitant given how much it costs to provide these services. I just sent Hyundai a note to say that because they keep hassling me that the credit card I used when I bought the car is no longer valid so they can't charge me. I told them for $50/year maybe I would consider it.

@RakSiam: It was about a half-year ago that Hyundai tendered an offer to their former customers at a 40% discount for BlueLink service. It was an attempt to get these lost sheep back into the fold. I immediately saw an opportunity and jumped at the chance to see if I, a first time subscriber, could get on that same offer. I would extend my one-year subscription into the future. Nope! They were having none of it!

That didn't settle too well with me. To be totally honest, I was incensed. So, when my current BlueLink subscription expires in March, I am calling and drop the program to see if Hyundai will play the same 40% off renewal game that XM does with their Sirius $5/5month plan.

I'm not that astute nor savvy in the business world. But, it seems like it's better to get 60% of something than 100% of nothing.

March approaches. We shall see. And I will report back what happens.
