so here is my plans ( I know some of you are like that crazy Liam is at it again )

So, I am taking the logos off the trunk and the name elantra off the trunk, I will replace them with a Genesis wing Emblem where the H emblem was( I removed it) and I will replace the elantra name emblem with the Avante name emblem that I have brought all already. also I will get Genesis caps for the wheels and steering wheel cap cover , then I brought this grille off ebay so I can do away with the H logo grille and also I like the look of this grille better anyways and I will take off that M/S emblem and replace it with a black silver RS emblem I brought that will match the genesis wheel caps cover that are black and silver .

my mods I brought

2015 2016 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Trunk Wing Emblem with Tabs Removed | eBay

KDM Avante Tail Gate Emblem Hyundai Avante Elantra Genuine OEM 86311 3x000 | eBay

Front Radiator Hood Grille Garnish Trim Unpainted for Hyundai 2017 Elantra Ad | eBay

Rear Trunk Lip Wing Spoiler Painted 4 Color for 2011 2014 Kia Optima K5 | eBay

for the grille

Car Black Race Sports RS Emblem Badge Car Truck Auto Motor Sticker Decals Symbol | eBay

haven't brought this yet i think this will fit on the 16 inch wheels but researching it first to make sure
4X Wheel Caps Hubs 1pcs Steering Sticker Hyundai Genesis Coupe Wing Logo Emblem | eBay

So that is My 2017 Genesis Avante RS

Some future mods are a CAI and I know some say it will not make more HP , If it sounds better, it will be faster in my mind lol .

this leather steering wheel cover that has to be sewn on around the wheel

Have to measure those caps very carefully. Not all Hyundai center caps are equal. I tried the wife's 2008 silver H caps on the chrome Sonata rims when I first bought them. You would think, a center cap is a center cap, is a center cap...since same manufacturer, yes? Nope!

Went to dealer who had about 5 different kinds. Two fit. Made my selection from there, moved on. Oh, price was about $40 for the set. But if you need them, well...dig deep.

Yea I was thinking they may not be the same size either. I have been working 7 days a week so I have not had a chance to google it to see if they would work. I got a part time job I do on the weekends so I can buy these parts for the car.. Its killing me working 7 days a week but I think it is worth it to make my car how I want it. haha thanks for the advise though, I def do not want to waste my hard earn money on something I can't use . :surprise:

I was thinking if not Avante, G30RS lol but I would have to order new emblems again. No to the G90. I dont want to make my car look like it is a Genesis G90. I want it to look like it could had been a baby Genesis because I think Hyundai really did a amazing job on the new 6th generation of the Elantra , so good, I think they should have a Genesis based on the Elantra for real.

On a side note, the back hyundai H badge on the trunk has two pegs that fits into these two drilled holes under the badge that go into the trunk in case anyone want to go the shave route and shave all emblem and badges off their elantras. Me I am not concern cause the Genesis badge should cover those two drilled holes.

I think the whole forum (including the lurkers) are dying to see actual pics of this momster

Unless the sport comes with the parking sensors in the front grill, I intend on purchasing the same M&S one.

Yea Freeway, I will post pictures once I get the grille in the mail and figure out how to put it in. Looks like the 2017 hyundai elantra front bumper nose cone is blocking access to the grille from the engine bay. I took off the cover between the headlights but that nosecone is blocking the grille , I hope the front bumper cover does not need to come off to replace the stock grille.

I think you're right , I am going to remove all the pins and skews and see if I think I can take it off myself and put it back on myself, if it looks like I might not be able too, I guess I might end up having to have a bodyshop do this for me.

I wonder how similar the 2011 like this one in the video is to the 2017

So I have decided not to switch out the badges from Hyundai to Genesis, but I am still going to use the Avante emblem and Two black RS emblems . I think I will black out the hyundai and Avante emblems with black plastidip

Now I guess I am at Hyundai Avante RS.

So, now we're building an Avantra, yes? ;)

Everything attaching that front bumper is primarily "screws, bolts, & push pins." EXCEPT, those clips running alongside the mating surfaces of the nose and fender seams. And where they are concerned, I feared them the most when removing my back bumper for the LED reflectors mod.

As it turned out, with Freeway Surfer's & Tiger-Heli's diagrams, it turned out not be as bad as I had thought. Watch that video. Start the bumper un-clip at the edge of the wheel well. Firmly, but not forcefully, apply increasing pressure to the area. First one will pop loose without damage. So will remaining ones as you work upward. A plastic trim tool will save your paint and your fingers. Just "take your time" and don't approach it as if you were "ripping off your girlfriend's blouse...buttons flying on all directions."

Have a friend standing by to hold that area while you do the other side. Then both of you can lay it down, nose first, onto a soft, covered surface.

The rest is easy. Reattach, stand back, admire the work, then start her up and go pimp'n down the street. And post some pics!

I'm stoked to see more pictures of the M&S grill if you bought it. The Avante sport has parking sensors in the grill. If the American Elantra goes the same route...darn. I much rather have the parking sensors anyways. I'll be down to other cosmetic less appealing options like plastic dip. The M&S grill sells for $200-240. At one point, I was checking out another avenue to see what a metal diamond mesh grill would run.

The parking sensors can be seen in the red Avante in the link below.

H.I MOTORS - the No1 Korean car accessories and spare parts Expert

I'm sure once you scrape all these custom things together, you'll want to customize further....any other plans for future customization?

yea I brought the M&S grille off ebay this past friday . I will post pics of it as soon as I get the grille itself if you wanna see it other than in the ad pics. I got to figure out if i can install it or if I will need to have a body shop do it.

Yea the parking sensors would be nice and I would not get rid of that. A interesting thing about the korean sport model is I have watched videos of it that was striped inside, not sure if those were prototypes though .

I think the grille on the Sport looks nice to be honest. The SE model is the only one with a grille that is not all that sporty looking. It looks ok but not sporty like the limited and sport models grille does.

watch at 12:45

the radio is the cheap one and from what I see, no controls on the steering wheel and the cd player radio and no push start. I think he is test driving two different cars though as one does have all the upgrades. The one from 12:45 on the video even does not seem to have the silver trim all elantra's do. IDK but it is interesting, I just cant understand a thing he is saying

Ha, sure swapped a lot of engines in my younger days, when it was cheap and legal, watch these idiots on these car shows, leave the transmission in and with ten guys try to align it, idiots. Always took a very careful measurement at the rear of the engine to the fire wall, even a piece of metal screwed to it for a guide for the axis. Then mounted the engine first.

With a guy as strong as I was, no problems in dropping it in with our bare hands with the head removed. Just adding the crankshaft and pistons and crankcase. Ha, even had to carry a 455 block several blocks to have it bored out. engine and transmission on the vehicle is one unit with three point mounting, two motor mounts, and one at the rear for the transmission that is a cross member.

One thing I could never do like these TV guys do, is to find some sucker to pay them a small fortune for this kind of work. Wonder if these suckers even watch the show to learn they were taken by 20,000 bucks or so.

Didn't even have to report these mods to your insurance company, this sure changed in this sue happy society. So bad today, even have to report changing a spark plug type. If you don't, if you have an accident, even if its not your fault, won't cover you. This is another omission from these TV shows, the guy paying a fortune for these customized vehicles getting insurance coverage for them.

Use to live in the land of the free and the home of the brave, switched to the land of crooked attorneys trying to avoid paying an claim.

How is this for a scenario, you painted your emblem black, have a head on collision, the crooked attorneys along with their crooked buddy judge says it your fault. But painting your emblem black, cut down the visibility for that culprit that hit you headon is the reason for this so-called accident. Also learn quickly, the insurance companies tie up the best crooked law firms, if you do find an attorney, will be second best.

Haha I will put yellow black warning tape on the back of the car. For real though , nothing shocks me .

I remember when I was a kid, My older step brother Larry got a new 1984 Toyota Celica coupe in early 1984 and his friend had a 1977 Toyota Celica GT, His friend talked him into swapping the engines of both cars , saying his 77 GT engine was better and lol Larry agreed.

The car was gone a week and my step father ( my mother's husband ) kept asking him, Larry where is your car, Oh I left it at a friends house He would say. He admitted after a little after a week what him and his friend was trying to do because they couldn't get the engine to fit in one of the cars and he needed help lol getting his engine back in. LOL MY stepfather went crazy !

It had to be towed to the toyota dealership and I don't know what it cost but I know , Larry did not get to keep the car, My father gave it to his other son Karl, who two months later wrecked it lol. Larry was 19 and karl was like 23 or 25.

haha if the worse I do to a car is change badges and grilles , I feel safe  and I will take my chance on those pesky lawyers but you do make a very valid point about lawyers.

I cant wait to see it in person. I will never understand why manufacturers put ugly grilles and wheels on cars. Down the road, I want better looking rims too but for now mine will do the job and they look nice enough for now to make me happy

Modifying a vehicle was great fun, before kids, and we use to say, far better to spend your money this way than getting plastered in a bar.

Right now, screwing around with computer problems, always computer problems. I don't see any difference between Windows 3.0 and 10 and everything thing in between. Same old crap, but keep on changing the names and the places where this crap is hidden. And doing this for some odd 30 years now, brain is so screwed up, can't tell my left hand from my right.

Think that grille goes in the front of the car, ha, triggered an old memory when the 1948 Studebaker came out, couldn't tell the difference between the front and the rear.

Sorry, been so swamped with school work. Won't be able to install or take pics for the next few days. I emailed Sharkracing and they provided this guide on how to install the grill. I've never done any sort of work like this before so it does seem a bit difficult judging from the pics since it's not that detailed either. But yes, the entire front bumper has to be removed.

Unfortunately I don't have a high enough post count to link you to the instructions yet, so that's gonna have to wait too haha.

The important thing to remember: the removal.of that front bumper is nearly exactly like the 2016 featured in the YouTube video. There may be a few subtle differences, a couple of Phillips head screws, maybe a couple of push pins, a bolt here or there.

Again, it is the 4-5 clips running alongside the fender seam that is most certainly the critical part. Don't be alarmed. Not overly. They can come loose with steady firm pressure. Work from the bottom, up.

That bumper is designed to slide out/off with very, VERY little effort. If it doesn't, chances are there's a fastener holding something. Don't force it off.

Take pictures of area you work in with your phone to help you remember where everything was fastened. That helps, tremendously.

I'm not certain, but I believe you only have to post 10 times to get out of probationary status. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

You can PM someone with the instructions with your email and they can send it via that route.

So my Genesis Avante idea is done with. I am just going with what it is called" elantra " because I brought these and I didn't realize it said Elantra on the chrome trim but I like it a lot so now I will have the Hyundai Elantra RS and I brought some Mid 90's chevy camaro Black out RS emblems to use . The RS emblems are 4 inches long and I got 3 of them as a deal. I think I will put one on the grille and one on the trunk. not sure where I would put the third one. Anyone want a RS emblem lol
