I have agonized over this since March. All of my cars have had names. Female names. Since she was born on Feb 18, I considered "Aquarius." "Esmerelda" was a left-handed idea. "Virginia," my home state.

I think I'm gonna name her, "Eleanor."

Last week was movie night and we watched the Last Stand. This topic reminded me of a scene in the movie.

Ray (Arnold Schwarzenegger): Do you have stupid names for all your $hit?"

Dinkum (Johnny Knoxville) replies: "Only the $hit I love."

If Hyundai manufactures a lemon which so happens to be the car I buy...I'm going to name her little bitc:eek:

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if @NicholasD pulled a cheesehead from one of his closets, @Old's Cool. No different than some of these clowns I see at OU's stadium on game day...wearing a foam Sooner Schooner (wagon) on their heads. They don't call them fan(atics) for no reason. They're everywhere sports are being played. Ever watched a "Duke vs North Carolina" BB game? Pure insanity. All the crazies turn out for that.

If the WVa Mountaineers lose a football game? Citizens in Morgantown drag old couches out onto the curb, soak 'em in gasoline, and light 'em up. Never did understand that tradition but used couches are a hot commodity in local yard sales.

And the insanity goes on and on, and on, and on......

Red Sox/Patriots fans around here. However, Yankees/Giants fans pale them by comparison...

This is kind of embarrassing but I did give it a name. We had Nissan Versas for close to nine years and called them little toot toots because of the locking beep sounded like a toot. Now the 2017 elantra has quite the funny sounding beep when it locks(sounds like someone is strangling it) Sounds more like a meep. Also the licence plate I got has mep in it so the logical choice was Meep meep....you know like the roadrunner. We sometimes call it meep or roady.

Embarrassing? I think not. Show me a person that doesn't love the roadrunner. I'd be walking out to get in and be imitating (in my best roadrunner voice), "Meep-Meep." So what if the neighbor's think I'm crazy and off my rocker? Who cares? Besides, it COULD become a tradition. I suppose if you get another one, you could call it "Acme..."

I'm Chinese, but I know a very tiny bit of Korean. My Elantra is from the Ulsan plant in Korea, and it's Polar White. To me, it looks milky white.

I wanted to give it a Korean name, since Hyundai is Korean and this one was made in Korea, so I called it 우유차 (u-yu-cha), which either means Milk tea, or Milk car! That's because 우유 (uyu) means milk and 차 (cha) is the exact same word for milk OR car. It's a homonym (homograph)!

Anyways, milk tea is a really common Hong Kong drink, so I think it's more of a Chinese term. You can also get it in bubble tea form :p (Taiwan is famous for their milk tea bubble teas)
