Washing the Tucson - Hard Water

I wash my car by hand every week. We have hard water here. So water drops dry quickly and leave spots that are very hard to remove without waxing it. Even on the glass, and windex won't clean it. I had to buy some special cleaner that is like a glass polish.

Is there anything I can use in my water so it won't leave drops? Or any kind of detail spray I can wipe it down with that will remove it? Or, any other suggestions? I hate the way it looks. And its impossible to dry the entire car fast enough getting every drop up before it dries.

Are you washing it in the sun? If so, do it in the shade and the water will not dry as fast. If there's a good coat of wax on the car to start with and you wash it in the shade, you should not get water spots.

I have exactly the same problems from the first day. I never wash on direct sunlight. Usually I wash my car in late afternoon when temperature is not so high but problems are still there

Yeah, the spots get there even in the shade.

What you want is an in-line water filter.
Clear Inline Hose Filter Canister and Accessories

This is just for a specific hose line though. Ideally, you should look into a whole house water softener. It will result in a cleaner car wash, but also better home use. No spots on dishes in the dishwasher, no soap scum/calcium build up in the shower and you will use less soap when bathing and washing clothes.

I still need to get one installed in my new house but had one in my old house. They are life changing.

I live in an apartment so I can't use it for my in-home water which does leave spots on dishes. Not sure how I could make it work outside. We have 1 community car wash area with a hose so I can't leave it on there.

I have started using Meguires Wash and Wax. Just spray it on and wipe off with a microfiber cloth. It costs $8.00 at Walmart. One bottle will wash the car four times and not use any water. I was skeptical at first. Tried it on some older cars first. Couldn't believe the results. People drive their cars to shows and wash them down with this stuff.

Well today I decided to try polishing just one part of it - the front part, hood, fenders, and bumper. I even used a clay bar! For my polish I've been using Zaino Z2. But the water spots are still there!!! What do I need to do to get rid of them?

Warm vinegar should remove the spots.
