And yes that is the wife. Pic is from about 98 I think.

It takes practice, but I've never had an issue with swirl marks. Good wax and a light touch with the buffer. Gotta be sure to get it washed good first.
Shoot, sonny, you're just a kid!

OK...back to wax...

Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax with Pure Synthetic Polymer is stunning and easy to use. I believe it's the best synthetic if you want to go that route. It's a little expensive but no more than the top organic waxes. I love using it and i'm sure it'll make a dark paint job look incredible.

I second this...I have used a lot of waxes in my day but this stuff is great. You can do all surfaces including windows and you will not get any white residue on any surface. You can do an entire car in under an hour.

Same here. The end result is only as good as the prep. Not having to worry about residue on plastic trim is huge. I think you have to use the liquid as the paste will make a mess out of trim.

I do a bit of detailing on the side and there's a lot of great "waxes" out there. I use sealants now as their more durable and look excellent. Check out HD Poxy made by 3D Products. HD Speed is excellent if you want to correct some swirls and light scratches while getting some protection also.
