So I have been very happy with my car. Been since August and never had a issue yet. Until a few days ago.
So basically what happened is sometimes when I start the car, The Hyundai logo starts up on the home screen and then it freezes there. Like for 2-3 secs. The radio is on while its only the Hyundai home screen and then it reboots automatic and it repeats like that randomly. Sometimes it goes away after 3 reboots. sometimes after 20. Is this a known issue or what should I do?
I try that and it was still the same Issue. I also tried to restart the engine but still the same. Its really strange. Sometimes it doesn't happened at all. But now through the week. it happened 4 times. Which is strange. Never had that. In that case, Should I go to Hyundai and ask them? Cuz I dont kinda wanna pay a reparation if there is a way to fix it through the forum.
Try rebooting the radio, disconnect a battery terminal for about 30 seconds. I needed to do this once when my siriusxm stopped working. It fixed that and didn't bugger any of the other settings. Hope this helps.
Open the hood, go to the battery and disconnect a wire from one of the posts. Not as easy to do as most other cars due to the airduct going over the top of the battery, but still doable. leave it disconnected for a bit. Then reconnect the wire. This act should reboot the navigation system. Also check the navigation manual to see if there is a key sequence to perform a factory reset of the system. If there is not, hopefully a simple call to customer service and they will tell you how. The systems without nav usually have a tiny pinhole with a button in it that will do a reset but I don't think the Tucson Nav system has this.
Ok I will try that in that case. Maybe I should go to a car service where they can disconnect for me? Or maybe go to Hyundai themself? It would just suck if they take extra money for it :/ But the battery disconnect should solve itself?
Here's our fuse panel, inside the car by your left knee. I'd pull the "multimedia", start the car and see if the head unit is dead.
Turn off the radio, turn the car off, pull the fuse and restart the car and turn the radio on while the fuse is out. If the radio doesn't turn on, that was the correct fuse.
Ok I will try that soon. What happened is that today the screen was all black. It didnt work but radio was on. Could change music and higher volume through the steering wheel. I just re-started the car and it worked but it should never happened like that. Really really strange things are going on.
Hi there!
I just bought a new Hyundai Tucson 2.0 L base model . I don;t have an Apple CarPlay ( even regular GPS is not installed in base model that i realized later ). Do you guys know where i can install it and how much it is cost?
Thank you
safe driving
I have a few months old Hyundai Tucson SE NAV, same as your model? Mine to is freezing in so many manifestations, like yours with the Hyundai screen frozen and no other function available, or black screen etc etc. I'm on my 2nd unit as the radio on my first unit used to jump 3 or 4 channels when stepping up or down. It's this 2nd unit that has the same problem (apparantely I've learned that all Tucsons have this problem) but also the freezing problem. Hyundai technical are now aware and my car has been in a few days now awaiting a 3rd unit. To show my dealer I uploaded a few youtube videos to show them. The Blue Hyundai frozen screen one can be seen here:
Actually the forum is not allowing me to put links, so just search "kezonline" on youtube and see my Hyundai frozen screen videos.
Clicking on my channel will show other similar freezing problems. The preset radio problem when from 1st time change channel it would jump a spurious amount of channels wasn't complained about before and techncal had to send a report to Korea for sorting out. Maybe a software issue down the line. The freezing is being increasingly reported and may well be a recall issue down the line.
So frustrating on a new car to have these radio/display problems! Hope you get yours sorted!!
Well I have the Ultimate version! That means the full version.
I just watched your Channel and the video that is called "Hyundai screen frozen, staying on part 2" is exactly how it is sometimes. Well the thing is now, since I wrote this post. Ever since then it works now without any issues which is kinda strange. I told myself many times I will go to Hyundai dealership/service and ask them but I also got recommended here to remove the hub or what it was now. I tried by myself but the buttons is really really small to take off so I didn't want to break it so I just left it.
But I will inform if I get any inform. as I said, Ever since I wrote this thread. The issue is gone haha but im sure it is still there
About the radio you are right and I think its nothing we can do. If you etc. are in channel 1 and want to go by moving etc on the steering wheel (pressing up) it will sometimes take me to channel 4. Its strange but im used to it so..
