Wrong Hyundai Tucson 2017 Sold to me

Hi, I am from Red Deer, Alberta. I had a 2012 Hyundai Elantra that i traded for 2017 Tucson 5 days back from Gary Moe Hyundai,Red Deer,Alberta. The Sales guy exploited my lack of knowledge & made me believe he was right. He talked about selling the fully loaded high endTucson but gave me AWD 2.0L Tucson SE.The said car did not have the functions that the Sales guy talked about. I paid lot more than what sould be paid. Please advise what should i do?

A bit more info. Did you not look at the exact vehicle that you bought? If you did, how did you accept the vehicle if it was not the one you paid for? Maybe I'm missing something, but when i buy a car or motorcycle, or an anything i look at it first. Or are you saying it was a "bait and switch" scam, if it was then go to the police. Good luck.

How much did you pay then? Just because you think it was too much doesn't actually mean that it was. Some salesmen are scum, but it's your job to make sure you get what you agree on and pay for. If you don't watch out for yourself then there's nothing anyone else can do for you. I don't know how it works in Canada but in the US once you sign the dotted line, so to say, that contract is locked in. Again, it's your job to make sure the paperwork and everything is in line before you sign.

Lesson learned - salesmen are not your friend. Their main goal is to make as much money off of you as a possible. An educated consumer makes the best customer. Please don't take this the wrong way but consider changing your member name, sorry.

That was my thought as well. Many dealers require the sales people to show you the car now and then the customer has to complete a check list document. Also before you drive off the lot you check the car.

How do you blindly buy something?
If you knew that the car should have certain features and you got in the car while still at the dealer and didn't see them why did you drive off?

C'mon, guys, we're all guilty of New Car Fever...

Bring the car back and say, "Uh, I think you made a mistake..."

If he gives you bunk, then say, "Well, I made a mistake coming here, and I'm going to make sure nobody else makes the same mistake."

Of course, you say that to the Sales Manager and/or the General Manager...

Another reason why I do everything online when I buy a vehicle.....One has a paper trial......When I bought my 2 latest vehicles....the first time I actually chatted with the salesman was to pass on my credit card # for the down deposit.......I have a strong dis-liking for car salesman, lol I don't trust them 1 bit.....

I would just go right back to the dealership and see him 1st. If he does not talk to you properly then i would say ok, well now its time to go over your head and speak to your boss. If that does not work then you talk to the dealership owner. I went thru this with trying to get a refund from my stepsons 2013 Sonata limited and the salesmen were giving me a issue. I said ok your giving me the wrong answer its time to go over your heads. I went straight to the dealership owner and explained to him after we bought the car you marked the price down 550.00 and we would like the difference. Sure enough he and the used car sales manager helped us out. It also helped as we bought our 2014 tucson last month from them too. But just see him 1st, then no answer you like you go up the chain. I`m sure they will work with you to get what you wanted.

thanks

all are good advices. There is nothing to add extra. If I buy car online from different province or state, I all times before giving any deposit/cc info make sure I get everything on the paper, every single bolt I need myst be on that paper. Only after that Ill sign off the purchase contract. I bought many cars in the states where I even never been before, everything was done thru online/emails/fedex etc...no single problem I faced.

Physically, you have no rights to return your car right now, however....go and talk to sales manager (not these guys on the floor or closing deal guy), walk into General manager office and talk to him...however, as car has left the lot and was plated, you have only one chance - trade in your car for another model or get some small discount...thats how it will work for you. You might lose few hundred bucks on that for sure if you do trade in....otherwise stay with it....

Seing lawyer in Calgary won't make a difference, as all of them work for $$$$ not on contingency basis, so sorry to say that...there is no luck for you..if you can't make it lemon within time frame!!!!!

If you have a lovely wife, sexy hot lover, cool car, no problems with the government and revenue authorities, and when you go out the sun always shines and all passers smile to you - common dude, say NO to drugs!

He does if he has the original Purchase and Sales agreement and the VINs don't match. The bank should have a copy of the original P&S on file. I'd check it and see. Of course, if the vehicle was financed.

I can guarantee the bank will not be happy paying for a vehicle they did not finance!
