PS: If the VINs on the P&S, the Financing paperwork and the vehicle match, then that's what you bought. Contact me; I'll buy the beer and you can cry in it if this is the case.

Dealers can make a mistake on vin numbers. Three years ago I bought a Kia. The car they delivered to me was the one I wanted, but the title and tags and all paperwork were incorrect vin. I didn't notice it. They caught it a few days later and and re-issued corrected title, paperwork and new tags at their expense. They gave me a tank of gas for the hassle.

Probably. At least, plausible.

Bottom line for anyone thinking of buying any vehicle, new or used, and reading this thread? Caveat Emptor: "Buyer Beware!"

Hee hee...wanna bet. I worked at one for a couple years. It happens. Usually someone catches it before it goes out the door.

In one case the VINs on everything matched...car, P&S, Financing agreement...

The bank called. The customer's signature didn't match the name on the rest of the paperwork!

New Car Fever....Salesman needed a sale, customer was in rapture. It went through the rest of the dealership without anyone noticing because they were too busy.

Possibly. Maybe went back to look at the paperwork and....oooops!

Or went back to the dealer and is kicking butts and taking names...

Did you check the models and prices online before heading into the dealership?

If not, Hyundai Canada has a 'Build and Price' feature on their web site. It gives the dealer MSRP for each model.

https://www.hyundaicanada.com/en/sho...uild-and-price

Click on the link above, select the model you purchased then compare the advertised MSRP with what you paid. If they charged a lot more, then it would be worth going back to the dealer or complaining formally to Hyundai Canada.

Would LOVE to hear how this was resolved, if ever.
