My Tucson gets Dealership sickness

You know that feeling when you are sick and decide to go to the doctor, but when you get there you miraculously feel better. Then when you leave, you end up feeling crappy again.

Well, my Tucson does that in reverse.

It goes in fine for its regularly scheduled checkups and so far every time I leave, something happens. On both occasions the engine light indicator comes one. Once it was immediate at closing time, the other time it was 2 days later and this time it occurred 3 days after the visit.

And with the weather here in NYC being all snowy and sucky, and my work schedule I just can't take it in anytime soon. (Well hopefully next week). But still, with it happening every time so far, I'm beginning to think the vehicle has dealership sickness. lol

What a hassle. Were they able to tell you what happened the other times? Good luck!

Yeah they did.
1st time was back in June, same day I bought the car. Ended up having to replace the Camshaft Position Sensor.
2nd time was in Nov, ended up being the DCT issue.
3rd time this month is the O2 Oxygen Fuel Sensor. Which came in today so I'll be back at the dealership on Tuesday to get it installed.

On today's episode of "Days of our Service Lives"...

So I go in early (7:45AM) since they have the part and wait. At about 12PM, they notify me that they have ordered the wrong part. Ummm really? You couldn't tell me that a few hours earlier. So they are express overnight ordering that part to put it in tomorrow and they expected me to go home and come back. But after explaining I can't be taking off another day due to their mistake and really do not feel comfortable driving with that engine light on any more. (Already driving with it for a few days), they finally authorized to give me a loaner car for a day or two.

They gave me a Mitsubishi Mirage. btw, I've forgotten how driving in a low vehicle feels like. I feel like I shrunk a foot in size.

So the saga continues.
lets see if they get it fixed tomorrow.
so until then, Same Bat-Time, Same Bat-Channel.

Well I got the car back Wed afternoon and since then I noticed that it drives more smoothly. It weird. With NYC traffic I still had minor shaking at idling and in low stop and go traffic. It was worse before getting the DCT updates. But after this visit replacing that O2 sensor, I don't get any vibration. It's really is driving great. woohoo

TS: Love the attitude. Hopefully, this is the end of this season's episodes, with next season at the dealership being cancelled. Enjoy! Hopefully, maintenance-free for a long, LONG time. Don't think you could handle many more jaunts around the Big Apple in a Mitsu.

If I took something like that home? In my driveway? My neighbor's would crucify me.
