Hi any help on replacing the rear reflectors on my 2016 Tucson would be much appreciated ,i.e. do you have to take off the bumper if so any diagrams, I am planning to put in the 3 function ones I bought from AliExpress (PCS for Hyundai Tucson 2015-2016 LED warning light brake light moving turn signal rear bumper light reflector with 3 functions) thanks:smile:

I have not done this yet but I want to, eventually..

I have not even looked under the bumper yet but if it's anything like the Elantra, or even better than the Elantra, there should be plenty of room to get a screwdriver up behind the bumper to remove the reflectors. It's just one screw holding them in.

Pop the new ones in and run the wiring up. You should be able to find some access points to get the wires "in" to the car and up to the tail lights, then it's just a matter of connecting the wires. I like using t-taps.

The instructions on these imported lights usually aren't very good, so here's a tip.. use a 9v battery or something similar to test the led reflectors so you know which wires go where. Black is always ground, one wire will light up not as bright as another, so obviously the brighter one will be the brake light and the lighter one will be the tail light. If you've got the turn signal as well there should be a wire that causes it to blink.

For the most part you can use common sense to figure out what wires to connect them to. You can see which bulb is your brake light / tail light / blinker and each will have the corresponding black ground wire and x-color signal wire... just tap the wire on the reflector that you've already tested for each function to each bulb's signal wire.

The nice thing about the t-taps is if you end up finding that you connected the wrong wires you can just unhook them from the wire and move them around, no major cutting or splicing involved.

I think it's just a new part for the Tucson's so nobody has done it yet. After your post I went ahead and ordered a set from Aliexpress, they were on sale or cheaper than when I first looked at them so I pulled the trigger. Got them for $60 when I originally looked at them for $90+.

You do realise that the reflectors are a legal requirement and require to be marked as such? The replacements you propose to fit are not legal reflectors, road lights or indicator lamps.

At the very least you could be required to remove them via a Vehicle Defect Rectification Notice and an MoT fee or, more seriously, charged with various offences under RVLR.

I had just installed the exact LED reflectors into my Tucson and I had no problem with not having enough power etc.

They were as bright as the OEM tail lights (both running and brake) though I never connector the indicator function as I think its a bit overkill so I just left them as driving and brake lights.

can you post some pix with lights on?

I can assure you the sparkie who was going to fit these lights for me connected them to the wiring of my rear fog light/tail lights and rear indicators to check them before fitting ,both lights only lit up an inch of the light strip ,so he did not fit them but he feed in excess of 12 volts into them and they lit up, what I am saying is the UK Tucson does not give enough power from the lighting wiring to fully work these things ,I made a mistake buying them just trying to help some one else from making the same mistake ,yes they were bought from China AliExpress I got no redress just told they worked before being sent

I bought some aftermarket LED reflectors last year with the hope that they could function as rear fog lights. Unfortunely the N. American Tucson is not prewired for rear fogs. Also, they did not reflect light at all. Ultimately, I didn't think it was worth the risk of someone plowing into my parked car at night because they didn't see it. After all, they're called reflectors for a good reason.

I also believe you can hook them up to any + 12V in the trunk, for example I grabbed one from the stop light on the roof where I connected to my rear dash cam, so this is not concern. As we all know that our car is low power consuming vehicle and requires load resistors to work with the stock harness on lights, so you can find + 12V easy and use some relay then if will need it...just my 2 cents.

lets say personally I hate the DRL. It would be way better if manufacturers will make headlights more powerful in order to see well a road you drive on instead of that they stuck with 19th century halogens and now putting 2 LEDs that don't produce any good lights at all, especially in rain/wet road! Also, based on some s=ty they decided to remove corner lightning on LED models in NA and headlight washers. seems we have completely clean roads with no dirty at all, so we don't need that! There are many other things as this....so back to reflectors, they design to work during the fogs, but do they light up?! if not, why we would need them! etc...LOL

My car has rear reflectors with a bulb inside and i am planning to get the below.

SNCN Multi-function LED Rear Bumper Light Rear Fog Lamp Brake Light Turn Signal Light Reflector For Hyundai Tucson 2015 2016

This is stock reflector in my car

Seller says that i will have to remove the bulb for good and connect the LED reflector to brake and parking light. Would this not throw canbus error as there is no load ??

@jcgarcia can you throw some information on this as the lights in the listing are same as yours.
@semco, i read your posts is a russian forum but couldn't understand much coz of translation error, some help here please.
