I have heard it on occasion on my Tuscon. I don't think it is turbo related. I think it is in a pulley. When it happens it reminds me of an idler pulley on a mower deck with bad bearings, or an air conditioner clutch that is starting to go south. Eventually someone will find the cause and at that time I will bring it to the attention of my dealer. Not bad or frequent enough to bother me right now.

Has anyone managed to fix this issue? Someone posted earlier about a rattle noise from the back seat, this one is a different rattle noise. And it's the one I'm experiencing.

Check to make sure the case holding the jack hardware is not moving around inside the spare tire well. Securing that solved my noise issue but others may have different noises.....

Not gone to dealer yet but I have found that the noise occurs in warm weather after engine has been run 10-15 miles. The instant the air conditioner is activated, the sound stops.

The air conditioner or the fan blower - i.e. is the noise present if the fan is on, but the A/C is off?

Noise is present with the fan on. Pushing the AC button on instantly stops it.

Not sure really what that could be other than AC clutch pulley or idler pulley or similar.

I was out of town the past week... but I know how you feel. I do believe the warmer weather may play a role as well... I'll report back after commuting this week.
