Programmable options via ODB-II?

Are there any programmable options that are not well known but a dealer can apply?

VW have some (I got a bloke with a VAG-COM unit to alter the way the doors lock/unlock to a more convenient way (one press unlocked the driver's door only, 2 for all - now set to one press for all).

Just curious - but if it were possible, I would like to disable the auto-engine-stop (by defaulting it to OFF not ON).

I hate that - SWMBO's MINI has it as did the Santa Fe I rented in Scotland. Horrid idea, especially on an auto box where it adds a second to the take off time at junctions.

I can press the button, but ideally, default to off would be nicer.

As VW have some "secret" settable options, I wondered if Hyundais did too?

Cheers,

Tim

Hyundai only put intelligent stop/go on the Blue Drive branded engines in the U.K.
I purposely chose an engine without it!

Oh and in answer to the original question, there is GDS but the changes it can make are very limited on the newest model as it is requires 'online authentication' for most features (i.e. Head office have to say 'yes' as a dealer would have this hooked up to their network).

If you own a soldering iron here is a circuit I knocked together for another application but I think it could be used to automatically switch ISG off every time you switch the ignition on. Parts will cost you about £5 from your local Maplin Electronics. In the diagram it's being used to switch a relay on but you could just as easily connect the output of the circuit onto the ISG off signal wire of the dashboard switch.

I do indeed :) Though I would probably use a 555 chip - I never got on with discrete transistors :-|

I'll probably refrain from that for a while - for warranty reasons, unless I can make it plug in (which would depend on finding the plug type used on the switch and sourcing one).

Good idea though :)

I utilized a Windows program developed in Russia when I had my Ford Focus. It would allow you to change perameters to the body and engine control modules. You could enable things like raising and lowering the windows with the key fob, adding HID headlights without the need for resistors and countless other options. I enabled heated mirrors, (after installing them) and the up/down windows on my Focus Titanium. I'm hoping someone developes a similar program for our Tucson.
