UPDATE: Android Auto & Apple CarPlay In Canada

As many of you know, I am a blogger and car reviewer as well as being a Tucson owner. I've been tracking this issue regarding the availability (or lack of availability) of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay in Canada. Long story short, I had an interview with Hyundai Canada this morning and I will be writing a story on this issue in the next 24 to 48 hours. While this will be a bit of a spoiler, I truly believe that there's a lot of moving pieces here that have clouded the issue and after this conversation with Hyundai Canada which I will share with you via the article that I am writing, I hope to clear the air and give you the facts on this situation.

Related to this, while I was tracking this issue, I've received help from many of you on this board when it comes to tips and information. I would like to thank you for helping me with this as I don't think I could have written about this to any degree without your help.

Thank you for that. I really appreciate the kind words. I had some time today so I worked over the last couple of hours and got the story done and posted:

Let me cut to the chase here. I spoke with the Senior PR Manager at Hyundai Canada today at length. I really think they tried to communicate what they knew to consumers as they got the info. But sometimes, that communication didn't go as planned. Plus MnSOFT releasing an update with Android Auto which was something that Hyundai Canada didn't see coming didn't help things. I honestly think that this was one of those situations where things went sideways and Hyundai Canada should likely get a free pass on this.

Thank you for the great report.

The MnSoft site now advertise not only Android auto but also Apple Carplay....

Dis they try to correct and creted another mistake instead?

One thing remains to be tested (I did not see anyone posting about this) Does it work on 2016 Canadian Tucson model?

Well, that's a plot twist that I wasn't expecting. I am going to get this update and be the "crash test dummy" for this. Wish me luck.

Okay. I've ordered it. Here's what I will do:

- I will document the process to install these updates.
- I will also create videos showing Android Auto and Apple CarPlay in action.

I paid for "express" shipping so I hope that I can do this soon.

I just used MnSoft webchat and I thank you for your valliant sacrifice if you decide to go this way.

According to their rep. they refer to Hyundai Canada's answer
