Floor jack lift points??

I was planning to do the first oil change on our 2016 Tucson Limited tonight, but haven't been able to figure out where I can safely lift the front with a floor jack so I can place jack stands at the factory pinch weld locations.

I prefer to do my own oil changes and such. Any suggestions?

Thanks, in advance,
Mike

There are no places where you can safely lift the vehicle other than the factory pinch weld locations. To put it on jack stands, you have to use a combination jack/jackstand like the Unijack. There is a long thread in the Azera forum on this. Here is a link to the end of the thread which has pictures and the procedure used. http://www.hyundai-forums.com/hg-2012-azera/250306-putting-azera-jack-stands-7.html#post3798834. I don't know the ground clearance for the Tucson and the point at which the wheels leave the ground, so I can't comment on which size Unijack you need. For more information on which size to get, see Post #14 of the thread I link above.

google pinch weld adapter. you can also modify hockey pucks. after working in a shop, one gets spoiled by standing underneath cars. i have been doing oil service on all our cars for at least 50 years. a while ago, i bought a mityvac, and started vacuuming the oil out from the top, then jack the car up to change the filter. now we have 2 2016 elantras, and after looking at that bf splash shield under the car, and only the pinch welds for jack points, i got a bit concerned. so i got a set of ramps, drove the car up, but those suckers just were not high enough. plus, being over 70, i aint as limber as before. if your car has a bf splash shield underneath that blocks access to the filter and drain plug, it might take a while to r&r it. while some just leave it off, i think it aids in cooling. not an easy job like before

On the plus side, our Tucson's have fairly decent ground clearance to facilitate an oil change on ramps. No running aground with the bottom of the front bumper. Hyundai even went a step further and installed an access panel in the belly pan so no need to remove the whole thing. A set of plastic ramps from Walmart is much cheaper and safer than floor jacks and stands.
