Install took 30 min, doesn't require 2 people, and didn't lift the car at all. 17mm gear wrench is a must for the side bolts if you want to finish in 30mins. I took the pass side exhaust hanger off, pulled down with one hand and rotated the hitch into place. WD-40 on the top body mount of the rubber hanger. Tight fit but doable with no damage done. Did not have to clean the threads of the welded in nuts.
The factory sprayed a rust prevention paint on the frame rails where this mounts. I sprayed some additional rust preventor on the spot where the guy or robot missed.
Yes, originally was only going to use it to hold my bike carrier but decided to go ahead with the electriclal for my motorcycle trailer. Going to start hauling the motorcycle instead of riding it. Way too hot for that here in Texas
Well, the little Tucson towed my bike and trailer over 900 miles with no issues. The total weight of the trailer and bike is 982lbs without brakes. Tongue weight was just 125lbs. in case anybody needs to know. Oh, and I averaged between 22 to 24 miles per gallon.
Hopefully firestone will come out with some airbags for our car soon, the tucson has seperate coil springs from the shocks. So you can fit an airbag no problem, just need firestone to make one.

Semco, push the lower end of the rubber hanger away from the end of the metal post protruding through it. Now, with more of the metal post exposed, spray some WD40, (or equivalent) around the newly exposed metal post. Now pull the rubber hanger off the end of the metal post. It should slide right off.
Looks good for those guys who did not have the factory hitch installed. I plan to use mine to trailer my motorcycle like Tony did in his pics.
Mine came with the hitch installed at the dealership for $300 on the invoice. So if you guys paid $199 for this and had to install it you saved $100 off me I guess. But if you pay someone to install and wire up the electronics then it would be around $300 so basically the same.
I think 300 from the dealer is fair. I paid $125 shipped for my Curt hitch. Had a neighbor help install. I did not bother wiring it as I am just using the hitch to carry bicycles.
199 is CAD $......which equals to $120 US...or so... Tried it again today and again - no luck! wasted almost one bottle of Wd40....wtf is that! How about if to remove rear bumper will it help to get access over the dual exhaust or not?
Finally installed this hitch today!!! THANKS to al guys sharing tricks how to remove that gourmet. After you sprayed rubber with some grease it goes off quite easy!!!
