Will we be getting Android Auto/Apple CarPlay like the Sonata? I thought I saw somewhere that we would, but nothing "official". Anyone have more info/timeline?

Encouraging news from Hyundai Consumer Affairs:
Thank you for your prompt response to Hyundai Motor America. We appreciate the opportunity to further address your inquiry regarding when Apple CarPlay will be available for your 2016 Tucson.

We understand your motivation in finding out exactly when Apple CarPlay will be available for your vehicle. Excitement is building for Apple CarPlay, as it will provide iPhone users a smart and safe way to use their iPhone while allowing focus to remain on the road. Unfortunately, Apple CarPlay has not been released for the 2016 Tucson at this time. While there is no release date for the 2016 Tucson as of yet, we will have an announcement on timing and the update process in the future. We apologize for any disappointment or inconvenience this may cause.
I like the sound of "...we will have an announcement..."

Now I just need to practice patience.

Apple CarPlay is the one thing that will put the Tucson over the edge for me compared to other vehicles.

My local dealer seemed to think that all Models will get it eventually, but he had no idea when.

He said that they had taken a ride in a Sonata that had it so he knew that it would be the first to get it.

My dealer said that both (Carplay and Android Auto) would be available in December. Reportedly the software was not ready for ios 9 this summer and it was shelved until ready. The only compromise was the Siri hands free function which doesn't really work. It was really painful to hear Siri speak compressed over bluetooth. There's no reason for Android Auto to not be working.

If any of you misters and sisters hear of anything earlier than December please post here. I'm anxious to get either of them to work.

This is what they sent me about android auto:
Android Auto is currently only available on the 2015 Sonata Sport, Eco, Limited, Sport 2.0T and Limited 2.0T models, equipped with eight-inch touchscreen display navigation. More volume will come with the launch of the Display Audio System in the 2016 model year. Display Audio launches on select 2016 Hyundai models later next year and will quickly become Hyundai's volume head unit. Hyundai will eventually bring the new infotainment system to all of its entry-level models in order to provide the best streaming multimedia and ownership experience possible.

I don't know if that's any help.

Has anyone heard anything else? I did contact Hyundai in regards to the Tucson and Santa Fe Sport getting CarPlay and this was the reply I received:

At this time, Apple's CarPlay will launch during the 2016 model year on select models with display audio or navigation. We understand that you are trying to determine if either of the vehicles you have indicated will have a wireless update for the software but we currently do not have this information available. We apologize for any disappointment this may cause and we ask for your patience as we will have an announcement on timing in the near future.

I need to get a new car before things go bad with my current 2002, but like others, CarPlay is huge for me and I would love to see it in the Tucson and would seal the deal.
