Whomp whomp noise
My 2011 Genesis is making a "whomp whomp" noise and it is driving me crazy. It only has 19k on it. More noticeable above 45, but over last week or so is starting to intrude even at lower speeds. More noticeable on smooth highways. A tire rotation did not improve it at all (and it fact it has worsened noticeably since then). Seems to be worse every day. It correlates with car speed not engine speed and seems to be once per rev of the wheels. It seems to come mostly from front left, but I often hear it from behind me as well. It is definitely louder when slowing down under braking.
I'm wondering if this is just bad tires or does it have to do with he brakes rubbing on the rotors (which may explain why worse under braking). It upsets me greatly as I have loved this car since getting it. Now it takes away my happiness.
