Default Hello im new owner of i30 blue drive

Hello all im a new owner of an i30 crdi blue drive with stop/start . It is 9months old and a lovely car unfortunately i cant get the stop/start to function. The battery was flat when i purchased it . Although it drives and starts up ok the stop/start will never engage . My intelligent battery charger says that the battery is fully charged? I think all other conditions have been meet . The dealer said he had replaced the original faulty battery how do i know for sure that he has ? Does the system need to be calibrated if the battery is replaced ?
Many thanks in anticipation of your help

Hi, not long had mine, but noticed the yellow light staying on the auto stop control button just lately, which means it is deactivated and should show on the electronic screen in between the speed dials when stopped.
Maybe the damp weather affecting the system or an actual error, I will keep an eye on mine, though it has been working since I bought it several weeks ago.
If it has not worked at all since you bought it, then a trip to the dealership would be the best thing to do.

Hi Jule91 an thanks for the reply .I dont think the damp weather will make any difference but using the aircon will .The dealer is replacing the battery on mine tomorrow because if it is not in top condition this will also affect the ISG system.I will let u know how i get on after the new battery is fitted

Hi Joseph97

According to the manual, the ISG will only operate under the following conditions :-

When the driver's seat belt is fastened
When the driver's door and bonnet are closed
When the brake vacuum pressure is adequate
When the battery is sufficiently charged
When the outside temperature is between -2°C to 35°C
When the engine coolant temperature is not too low

The car also deactivates the ISG when the DPF is regenerating - does yours have a DPF fitted? I think it might.

Hello again and thanks for the replies. The battery has now been replaced by the dealer with the correct VRLA AGM type and the isg system immediately worked correctlly and is still operating like a dream!!!!
Hope I havent put the mockers on it all now by saying that but it really is a good system . Just goes to show that the correct battery must be fitted to cars with isg systems fiitted .
