My previous car had a Viper security system with the cellular module that had the app for your phone. It worked great but had the same delay. Not really useable for every day use of locking/unlocking the car. It did save me a few times when I forgot to charge the fob and it wouldn't unlock the car or disable the alarm. When I had it installed, the tech told me that they did have a module that worked with the proximity key/push button start but it was very expense. If I remember correctly, it was in the $150 to $200 dollar range over and above the cost of the original alarm. That would put it in the $800-$900 range plus the $300 for the cellular module. Look around for someone other than Best Buy that really knows what they are doing with this type of thing. You can go to the Viper website and find an installer in your area.
