What type of driving do you do (conditions, etc.).

What are your criteria when you say "best"?

Best mileage? Best dry handling? Wet handling? Quiet? Long lasting? Cold weather performance?

I shopped around a lot for tires when my first set were worn. I settled on replacing them with the same things that came from the factory.

Engineers tweak cars to work well with the factory-spec tires. Other tires will work well, and may be better based on your definition of "better", but I was happy with the factory-spec ones for the first 45,000 miles, why not stick with them?

as TeamCNY said

each brand had its own characteristics
where bridgstone for examble is good for handling but noisy and wear fast (due to their grip)

and so on
so you must identify what you want

for me id like a quit and comfortable tires.

I have an 05 sany 2WD. It came with the Bridgestone H/T. I found an independent testing of tires. I can't remember which one. Anyway the H/T was third from bottom of list. The H/L series was second from top. I went to the dealer and exchanged the H/t for the H/L series. I had 400 miles on them (1 week old). He exchanged the under warranty after he asked me if they road hard. The H/L do ride better. Most car manufacturer's mostly put on a tire that just makes the grade unless you are buying an expensive vehicle.

I have Firestone Destination's on my '01 Santi AWD. Low noise, great ride, great wear & traction. I would buy them again.

I put Firestone Destinations on the front of my 02 2wd at about 64K. I haven't rotated tires for 20 years--only have to buy 2 tires at a time that way. Just watch the alignment & fix if any uneven wear shows. Still have the original Goodrich Long Trail TAs on the rear at 95K--I think they'll run at least another 10-15K! The Goodrich tires have worn like iron but have lousy traction. The Firestones have great traction and seem to be wearing well. I live in Iowa & drive in snow a lot, so traction is important. I haven't had to align the SF yet. It's been one of the best vehicles I've ever owned. I'll be buying two more Firestones if I still have the SF when the TAs finally wear out.
