its been a long time now and it did not really both me till i moved. But my rear defrost is not working, the button lights up when you push it but it bounces right back out at me and turns off again, i used to stick a coin in there to keep it down but that does work anymore, do these buttons fail or break often?

these things happen from time to time, looks like you need a new switch

Correct. The last switch I had to replace on my '04 was the hazard light switch after the bulb blew. If memory serves it was around $25USD.
