I own a 2005 Hyundai Sonata V6 GLS 2.7L and recently failed emissions. The code I was given said the oxygen sensor in bank 1 sensor 1 was bad. I have since purchased the new part, but I'm having a time figuring out which is bank 1 sensor 1. Can anyone help?

byronguidry3732 is an unknown quantity at this point

Short answer: Bank 1 is the front exhaust manifold, Sensor 1 is the one that you can reach from the top under the hood following the wire down.

Long answer: Go to hmaservice.com and register. Enter Shop, 2005, Sonata, 2.7 liter, Engine, Mechanical, Oxygen sensors. The manual has diagrams and pictures.

Where's my bailout?
