Default Bad crankshaft position sensor. Should I have additional work done?

I have a 2002 Hyundai Sonata 2.4 4 cyl. with 106k miles. Car hesitated during acceleration, stalled and then wouldn't start. Took it mechanic and the check engine light was showing a bad crankshaft position sensor. Mechanic said that the amount for replacing sensor is $350, but he recommends getting all new belts, tensioner pulleys and other components at the same time when replacing the sensor. The timing belt I have on there now has about 45k miles on it. Should I just get the sensor replaced now for less money? Or should I get all the belts, pulleys and all other components replaced at one time (this would cost over $800) to avoid future labor costs?

You have to strip the entire front of engine... replace all the expendible parts.

crank Position
balance belt
timing belt
tensioner - DO NOT RECYCLE old part
2 drive belts --

As sbr711 noted, there are a number of parts that make sense to replace while you are in there. You might shop around to another shop and or look to coupons. I know my 2.7 cost around $400 to replace timing belt and accessory belt. Shop around and look for a little better cost on the job. JMHO

The mechanic called this morning and said that the balance belt and drive belt were in 2 pieces when they went in to replace the cps. They will need to be replaced along with the belt tensioners (they were all the original parts). He also said the timing belt was loose with too much slack. I'm getting that replaced as well since they're in there. All in all, for what I thought would just be a cps replacement is ending up being a number of parts being replaced. Unfortunately, the total cost is going to end being between $800 to $900 which is too bad because money is tight with my family. Had to convince my wife to spend this much, but it has to be done so the engine runs properly. Thanks for the input!
