Default Vapor Lock?

I have a 2004 sonats and it seems to after every fill up, not start up right away. But it will if i wait a few minutes. is there a way that there is a vapor lock in occurance. and how can i go about to diagnose this or even fix it.

Replace the purge control valve, yours is stuck open and drawing the collected fuel vapors trapped in the evap canister' charchol bed in an uncontrolled fashion,, hence the hard start/rich run/stall untill the vapors cleared from the evap vapor recovery and fresh air then run..

Part + maybe 5 minute of your time if you is handy

Here is a link to a spark plug change out on a santa fe. It's a 2.7 so if your car has the same engine it should match up pretty well. On steps 8 through 10, they are dealing with the purge valve(even though the person doing the write up didn't know what it was). You should be able to use this guide to find your purge valve. Just slides off towards the driver side.

I had this same problem. Every time I get gas (especially in cold weather I think) the car had really hard time restarting. I fixed it by buying one of these and having my mechanic replace it. He did it for free since it only took 10 minutes. Just wanted to feed back that since this forum is where I got that information. My 2004 Sonata has been starting fine after fueling up every time for the past 4-5 months now.
