I have come to my wits end... I can't seem to find where this sensor is located at... I know it means the vehicle speed sensor and my speedometer and odometer stopped working.... So I failed NJ inspection because of check engine light...
Is this sensor the input or output speed sensor or is it a completely different sensor?
Any help would be greatly apprecitated and even a picture...
thanks , Wayne

I seriously doubt you going to buy this at the local part store.. will likely be had at the local hyundai and Kia dealer, same part between Sonata/Santa Fe and Kia Optima.. We usually keep 1 on the shelf

Thanks again...
I think I finally found the sensor... Tell me I'm correct its on the right backside of the tranny and by the firewall.. about a foot door from the top of the engine... looks like 3 very short wires go to it that ties into a bundle that runs to wherever..
I called 1 hyundai dealer today in Delaware and talk to parts and I asked them for this sensor and she said was it the input or output speed sensor and I said its NOT suppose to be either one of them .. So I called their service dept and told her about the PO500 code and she looked it up and said yes there is a vehicle speed sensor that operates the speedometer and odometer so I called back to parts and parts wanted the last 8 digits of my VIN and said she had a sensor for $ 80.00...
Hopefully if I go over to Delaware from Jersey its the right one..
I see 1 bolt hold it on and I'm worried about breaking that connector with such short wires..
any special things to do...
thanks, Wayne
