Just got a ScanGageII and had a quick look under the dash for the OBD II connector on our 2009 Elantra Limited, but it was not immediately obvious. Can anyone point me in the right direction/area?

Thanks,

update: I found it. Once I got the car out of the garage and in the daylight, and got over the mental block of expecting it to be white like the one my Maxima, it was fairly obvious. Its just behind the lower lip of the dash about six inches from the left kick panel. And its black on my car.

Hi
If you have a parcel shelf under the steering wheel area have a look under that on either side of the transmission tunnel on my Tucson (Rhd) its inder that shelf and to the left.

Cheers

Header,

How do you like your ScanGauge II? It's on my wishlist, but I don't know anyone that owns one. Do you use it preiodically, or is it hard-mounted in the car (what i would do)? I'm glad to hear of the location, because I was trying to figure out a simple and clean way to run wiring from underneath the passenger seat (where I thought the OBD II port was) to the dash. Thanks in advance!

Chris

Hi Chris,
I like the ScanGauge II, it's fun to play with. I have a confession to make - when I couldn't initially locate the OBD II connector on the Elantra I hooked it up on my Maxima and it's been there ever since. When I was initially researching the purchase of the SG II I read something about the possibility that it might not work correctly on some Hyundais but there was an adapter of some type to make it work, or possibly a way to disable one of the connector pins. Sorry I'm somewhat vague about this but it was a while ago. Since I have never hooked it up to the Elantra I can't confirm how it will work on it.
