I just noticed my low beam headlight (drivers side) is out. When the fog/driving light(s) went out, I just procrastinated until they were both out. In doing a little research, it appears Phillips recommends to replace the headlight bulbs in pairs. At $30 each, do I really have to replace in pairs?
Thanks, Bob |

this is H11b. not too many choices and rather expensive
pair - well, the new one will be brighter than the old one, which may fail anytime soon. If you put one and see no significant difference - stay with one. Your choice. |

Thanks Em-Squared! Love the MR2s too... I've had the 89' for quite a while. It's really like a street legal go-cart but I'm kind of getting tired of the dashboard. I've kind of been weighing my options - newest body style MR2, newer Mustang, or newer Camaro. The problem with all of that is that I will have to get rid of something and it would likely be the MR2.
![]() For what it's worth, I ordered two bulbs on-line and plan on putting both in. I will now have replaced more bulbs on the Hyundai in 3 years/35,000 miles than I have on my 2001 Chrysler T&C with over 100k on it! |

From quality of light bulbs (it is hard to justify, though), light intensity/quality (thinner filament - brighter/whiter light - meaning more prone to breakage), to suspension and roads (Elantra is MUCH more stiff than Caravan/T&C). Besides, charging voltage is one more thing to check. Could it be your voltage is little too high? I did not have to change ANY light bulb on my 2007 Rondo (almost 50k miles). |

I put the bulbs in last night. First off, I had read somewhere that you need to remove the headlamp assembly to install the bulb. That was not true in this case. I replaced the burned out bulb first - what a difference in color/brightness! Definitey replace in pairs as suggested, at least in my case.

Yep, this is one of only two niggly things I've found wrong with the HD so far (along with the significant blind spot on the rear pillars). The low beam is terrible! Do you folks have Narva globes over there? The Plus 100/120 globes they have blow anything Philips have completely out of the water! Absolutely stunning lights to drive at night in a rural area.

100/120 is the wattage I guess.
In here, the headlight is equipped with H11b. I find the beam not so bad. However, I am going to retrofit FX-R projector with HID... |

Their globes are rated as a percentage over stock, so the Plus 100 is twice as bright as a regular one
