Hi,

Just curious about people who have programmed their Homelink button to open their garage door. I have to push my button for about 3 seconds before the door will open or close. I read on the Homelink website that you sometimes have to hold the garage door remote at different angles or distances while programming or to put fresh batteries in the remote for best results.

What are other peoples experiences?

Thanks,
Congo

I programmed mine without issues and yes it takes a second or two pushing the button for the door to open.. fine by me though. With my wife and I driving, I have to adjust the mirrors and would get p*ssed off if everytime I just touched the button it opened the garage... lol

Perfectly normal.

It takes a second or so for the mirror transmitter and the receiver on the garage door opener to read the rolling code and communicate. That's what makes it so secure.

If you program all 3 buttons for the garage door, you don't even have to find the right button each time.
