And here it is on Dropbox - a working copy of Primo 2.0 NA
If you have problems acquiring the satellites, it is prolly because the sys.txt file has the wrong COM PORT specified. PrimoFred.zip |

Grinner, once again thanx so much.
I will download your copy tonite, once I'm home. Any special instructions/password that I need to be made aware of? Last night I looked at the directory structure and files that came with my copy of the IGO software. In my language directory, I have PNA files, NOT PDA. I don't have a system.cfg file or a Profiles directory under Save for that matter, so clearly things quickly became confusing to me and I could not execute your suggested fix instruction in your last post. Again I tried downloading another version I found on the web, this too just hung mid-way through, but I believe it may not have been a North American version, so may have got itself hung up during the initialization process. If I do experience issues, when installing your version, would you know what COM PORT I should select within sys.txt? All for now and I’ll keep you posted on my progress, Cheers Fred in Canada |

[gps] port = 1 baud = 57600 I would definitely email Qualir and tell them it doesn't work. The unit has 2 systems - a GPS board and a DVD board. You may have a bad GPS piece. |

Hi Guys,
Couple of questions in reference to posts further back: If you want to connect to the factory USB connector near the seat warmers, you will probably have to add some pins to the QL-STF708 harness, you can find which pins go to the USB port here. 2011 santa Fe radio removal and connecting wires to new unit Best way is probably to cut the device end of a cheap USB cable and add the pins instead If I cut a USB cable in half and bare the wires, does anyone what cables to connect to the 4 pins in the C3 connector? And when connecting the rear camera: For wiring check some older posts from Grinner he gave me the advice of using the multiconnector R16 use a multimeter to check for the right wires, mine were blue and white! Can anyone tell me where the R16 multiconnecor is (I assume it's somewhere in the rear hatch)? And last not least, the radio interface is a bit basic, anyone know how to tweak it to make it look better? GAH |

Grinner, just a quick update.
Tried your software last night real quick, it too just hung midway while installing, and never progressed further. Changed the com port to "2" from "1" and gave it one more go. Same thing, stuck midway into install. I believe this is where it attempts to acquire the satellites, so, as you had suggested, it may be the GPS board thats faulty. I wonder if there is a way to reset the entire Nav Unit, because once I go into the Navigation Menu, response is slow/iffy. Sometimes its total unresponsive and needs a reboot, sometimes I get error messages etc. Everything else on the Nav unt works fine, just the Nav portion is sluggish/unresponsive. Anyways, again thanx for all your efforts in asissting me in resolving my issue, so it's off to Qualir now for some support. Cheers, Fred in Canada |

I wonder if a sub-topic on this thread is needed to keep all GPS installation discussions in one "folder" for more effectiveness?
For now, and FWIW, I found this link on Igo installation, perhaps of some use? Howto: Installation of iGO8 on Qnav QNG400 and an unbranded GPS unit Dta |

Hi Guys,
Really happy with my STF708, apart from the UI, which is terrible looking! I know Grinner and Polarfest have managed to edit some of the skin bitmaps on their own units (the STF962 ), can anyone help me to get access to the skin folders on my unit? I hav looked at the link that Grinner posted for the Ottonavi unti, and I've downloaded the RRUI editor, but I'm not sure where to start! GAH |
