I have access to the HMAservice.com website, and am looking for the instructions on how to program the auto door lock feature on my 2008 Santa Fe. I plan on asking the dealer to do it during my first oil change coming up soon, and want to have the instructions in case they claim they don't know how to do it.
I've seen these instructions at HMAservice.com before but can't find it now.

Thanks...

This is a TSB that actually covers all models. It only has certain years listed, but all years of that same chassis code will work the same. I will list the recent ones:

Accent 2006-current
Azera 2006-current
Elantra 2007-current
Entourage 2007-current
Santa Fe 2007-current
Sonata 2006-current (not sure if the 2009 is the same, but I don't see why not)
Tiburon 2005-2008
Tucson 2005-current

I have seen so many people with this same question, all across the Hyundai lineup. I wasn't withholding this info, I just didn't know this TSB existed... lol.

Mods, if you wanna make this door lock PDF thing a sticky, I think that might be helpful in the future.

EDITED: Sorry I forgot to add the attachment

Thanks for pointing this out I really like this feature had it in my 04 Sebring and did not realize that they could change the programming.

Cheers

okay ive been on this website for about an 2 hours now reading EVERY post.. haha so i bump into this and i apoligize if it has been asked already but i am readnig every post from top to bottom, and my wife got really excited when i said our car might have an autolock feature because that would be a great safety addition to our car for the baby (dont want him to open the door if i did forget to lock the car while driving..

1) when you say autolock is this when the car goes faster than i believe 15mph as a safety feature? so doors lock automatically when driving?

2) i have a 2008 santa fe limited, does this apply to me? i would think so since the 07 are really similiar

3) is this something that is free? can i bring this attention to the dealer? my friend is a salesmen at hyundai, so do you think he can help me? dont want to ask him unless i know exactly what im suppose to aask

4) can somebody please show me how to get the dealer to do this for me?

Thanks so much!!!

Yes. . this applies to your '08. It does not come set up this way by default--you have to ask your dealer to set it up for you with their diagnostic computer. My dealer did mine for free when it was delivered. They shouldn't charge you for this service--you should have been asked if you wanted it at time of delivery.

You can, and should, have your door locks set up the same as mine.

As soon as I start the vehicle, all the doors lock. Yes, as soon as it starts. To be even more specific, all the doors lock as soon as the key is put in the start position.

It will take your Hyundai Tech about 10 minutes to do this and if your dealership is worth its salt, you won't have to pay. If they charge you, change dealerships.

Too bad the Santy can't be programmed to unlock when you put it in park

Why would you want to automatically unlock your vehicle at the "park" position?

It might not be the safest time to have your vehicle accessible from the outside.

One example might be when you stop for gas. Cars have been hijacked at service stations because the doors were unlocked and if you don't aways remove your keys, it can be stolen easily. There are many other examples that I can think of as to why you would not necessarily want your vehicle open to the public when put into park.

Of course, it is a bit of an inconvenience when you are in your own garage and the back seat people want to get out. It is a trade off. I would rather err on the side of safety.

Just my opinion for whatever it's worth.

Probably 99% of the time, when I put my vehicle in park, I'm looking to get out.
If I don't want to get out, I would hear it unlock and just lock it again.
