**** It! Check Engine Light Was On

The yellow annoying light turned on consistently from last night. I took it to the dealership, they end up replaced a 'relay', not any of the sensor.

Of course, it's free. But I feel so bad, my Fe is only 13 months old, haven't reach 24000km yet.

Mine turned on once for two days. It disappeared after that.

Dear henry,

Since your repair was covered under warranty, no harm done.

I had my CEL turn on in the first week of use because I did not close my fuel cap 3 clicks.

Yeah, no harm. Just start to worry about the quality. Something else may break soon, who knows. I don't like to visit the dealer too often.

I wouldn't worry about the quality, all the car companies are about the same. I had to replace and engine and a transmission in my 2006 Honda 3500 miles. Basically, the transmission was binding and put too much stress on the engine and it broke, and broke hard. My friends new Toyota, decided it wouldn't like to run any longer and Toyota took 2 months to figure it out what was wrong with it. No offense but I get tired of people who own Hyundai's and they freak out when one thing goes wrong with it. If you are so scared about owning a Hyundai than don't buy one.

What timing... My check engine light came on yesterday.
Today it was still on. After a short drive I re tightened the gas cap. The light went out. The strange thing, I got gas over a week ago and the light didn't come on until yesterday.
Yes, I gave it 3 or more turns.
It seems the gas cap doesn't tighten down as tight as my Miata's.

What a coincidence indeed..... mine CEL just came on this evening at 24,175km. It will be interesting to see what the problem is.

Check your gas cap. Give it several turns.

Well turns out when I started the vehicle this morning the light didn't come on and has stayed off since. I will re-tighten the gas cap again just in case that had something to do with it.
