I just adjusted the low beams on my 08 Santa Fe. The ratchet like knob is fairly easy to adjust by hand on the passenger side, but the driver's side was a tight fit, a no-go for my big fingers. The end of the adjusting knob will accept a 12mm wrench which makes the adjustment a breeze. The visual aspect of adjusting the low beams up or down is enhanced by the sharp cut-off of the projector beam.

I'm pretty sure you can just drop a straight slotted screwdriver through the hole directly above and use it to adjust it.

that's right - headlight adjustment shouldn't be carried out just so that the driver of the vehicle can see more as headlight aiming also affect oncoming drivers vision.

headlights should be adjusted so that the headlights don't affect oncoming drivers - use either a headlight aiming chart or have your headlights adjusted by someone who has a headlight aiming machine so that they are adjusted to consider oncoming drivers

question: my new 2011 hyunda santa fe SE V6 for adjustment of high and low beams:

Is the low beams adjusted separately than the high beams? Reason being is I drove my new santa fe at night first time this weekend and the low beams are perfect, but the high beams are a smidge too high. The high beams on the front and sides of the vehicle directly in front are completely dark, no light at all unless you are a shorter driver say 5' or so. Is there a separate adjustment for low and high beams?

I would also like to know if the high beam can be adjusted on my 2006 model, used it in the dark for the first time at the weekend. The dip beam was a bit too low and when i put on the high beam the lights hit the ground within the pattern of the dip beam rather than almost straight in front.
Wondering if the previous owner found the dips so poor he adjusted the high beams down so he could drive with all 4 on to see where he was going.
I fitted a 4300K HID kit to the dip when I got the car, nice clear light pattern on the road with two yellow high beam spots in the middle of it!

I have an 07 as well. My drivers side adjusted fine but when I did the passenger side the lamp is not moving at all. Any thoughts? Perhaps stripped?
