Drives Hyundai Santa Fe 2.2Crtd+

I am new to this forum and am looking for some advice. I own a 2008 Santa Fe - the 7 seater 2.2 (UK) model which has self leveling suspension. The two rear shocks need replacing. Hyundai have quoted me nearly £1600 to supply and fit these! I am looking for a more reasonable alternative and am thinking of replacing with standard shocks as found on the five seater. Can anybody see any major problems with this? Would I need to replace the springs too? Any help appreciated.

£1600 is a "good" price as they can be up to £1000 each + fitting elsewhere!
A 2008 Santa Fe in the UK should still be under it's 5-year warranty so why can't you get it done that way. Theoretically, it's a straight swap as long as you do them in pairs but I've not heard of anyone who's actually done that - partly because the self-levellers aren't fitted as OE in many countries because they don't get the 7-seat option. There's also a UK Owners Forum at HOCGB Forum which you're more than welcome to join as well.
