Default Poor phone call quality on 2012 Santa Fe Limited

I own a 2012 Santa Fe Limited with the bluetooth phone system. When I either answer a call or place a call, I am told by the person on the other end of the call that I sound very "tinny" and call is not clear. They also say there is alot of background noise and I am hard to understand. Is there a setting I am missing in the setup between my iPhone 4 and the vehicle bluetooth? I have read other blogs saying that call quality is very good in their Santa Fe's, so why is mine not so good? Thanks for any replies.

I would start by trying another phone, make or model, to make sure the problem is not your phone.

My quality is perfect with both my iphones and blackberry. I am wondering if maybe there is an issue with your mic

Would be useful to know which radio you have (base model, Infinity or NAV).
Also for those who reply, adding this info (as well as the phone you connect with) would help pinpointing if this is affecting a specific version of the radio and/or phone.

I have the base model radio connecting with Samsung Galaxy S2 and have no issues with sound quality, as confirmed by my wife when she calls me.

I have a Windows7 phone and no one on the other end ever knows I'm on hands free.

I always find that as long as I turn off the radio and turn down the heater fan and speak clearly, the users on the other end have no issues hearing me OK. I also try to make sure I am sat upright so that the mic above my head can pick up my voice easily.

My biggest complaint is the linking to the phone, but I blame my crappy Samsung Entro for that more that I do the Santa Fe.

I have the 2012 Limited with Navigation and iPhone 4, and have no problems. Have you tried turning up the microphone, I think its in the phone settings.

I "think" this affects the mic volume??
