2008 Santa Fe. Removed 2 bolts and 1 nut as shown in manual. cleared the clip at the bottom outboard corner. What else am I missing? I'm still Unable to remove the headlight bucket. It will only come out about an inch or so then feels like something else is holding on. Thanks for any advice.

I don't have skinny hands but I've changed all 4 bulbs, ie main and dip, on mine without removing the headlights.

I did everything you describe on my 07 and experienced the same problem. But the bucket does come out, believe me. 0n the lower back side of the bucket (fender side of the vehicle) there is a male rubber grommet that locks into a female rubber piece on the fender well. You can't see it from the front of the vehicle or the from the top looking down under the hood. But it's there and you'll see it once you're able to work the bucket out. That's what's holding the bucket up and with a little muscle it will break loose.

Thanks to all that responded. I'll give it another go this weekend. I thought there was a grommet as described. Didn't want to break anything though. Thought about trying to soak the area with some soapy water and perhaps free thins up a bit. Anyhow thanks again.

I just replaced all of mine a couple of months ago in my 08. I'm 6'4" 300 Lb so I have mitts. I did it without removing the lights. It's wasn't a snap but it only took about 20 min. Taking them out will make it much easier to replace the lights but you now have to take the light out and then put it back. I didn't want to do that so I had to tough it out and use my patience. Good luck either way. The upside of removing the light is you will now know how to do it when you dive further into the front end.
