Trondai? Check it out.
This is a current project of mine. Just to answer obvious questions, I don't drive it while they're on... (Well what are they used for then?) I hooked them up to the alarm/lock connection so when you press the button to unlock or lock the car, they go on and off just like the front and rear lights. I also have a switch inside that turns them on to stay on. (For show)

If you use red it's actually legal in some states I think.

Same with blue, but if you don't have it on while you're driving it doesn't matter. As long as it's just for show I'm pretty sure you can have any color exterior lighting in any state. I could be wrong, though.

Oh I was referring to actually driving. Yes your allowed to have the actual lights in all states I believe.
The thing with the red in California, is your only allowed to have it visible from the rear of the car. (You can line your trunk like mine, and attach it to brake light) So maybe in other states it's more lenient. As for blue it's illegal to have it show while driving period.
