Hyundai Accent 2005 Model - Right hand Drive

Hi
I disassembled the glove box and could not managed to figure out where the cabin air filter is. There is no section located behind the glovebox where i could pull out a filter. Is it possible that there is no cabin air filter in my accent? it is a 2005 model but it is a very basic model. |

Right. I should have looked more closely.
Can it be that the filter(s) are only present on cars with A/C? I dug thru the parts book and it's not clear but that may be the case. Jim |

I was having trouble comparing your photos to the drawings in the various manuals. Is it possible that this is a RHD vehicle? (Profile doesn't state your location.) The tip is that the control cable at the top appears to run opposite direction from LHD cars.

yes it is a right hand drive vehicle and I am in Fiji Islands.
The vehicle body is a 2005 model but the engine was replaced as the vehicle was in an accident. For more clearer pictures of the structure behind the glovebox is also found on another forum. DIY - How to replace cabin filter Accent 2000-2009 - Page 2 - Hyundai Forum: Hyundai Performance Forum is it that the structure is for a legacy model of the accent thus no cabin filter required? try looking at manual for 2000 model or 1999 |

Sorry, I didn't recognize the user name.
![]() Aftermarket parts listings do not show any cabin filter for either 1998 or 1999. It first appears on 2000 models and the same part used on 2001. Interestingly, one supplier specifically states that their replacement filter is for LHD cars only. That is the end of the trail as far as any information that I can locate. Jim |

The filter part number is identical from my research - same way of easing the glove box down then sliding the filter out after unlatching the clip. The OP (being in Fiji) will likely have issues with mould growth in the heat and humidity - smells a lot better with a new filter!
